Since my first encounter with board and brew, I've since been there at least 5 times in just a month. It's my solid, go-to sandwich place. I recently discovered their salads, which are also amazing! Fresh cut lettuce, generous toppings, and delicious dressings. I've been looking for a reasonably priced, consistently good salad place, and of course it's board and brew. Other sandwich and salad places have met their competition!

Good food, good drinks, priced well.... 2 thumbs up! Great sandwich spot in Scripps Ranch. Located in a small shopping center a bit hidden from the Mira Mesa Blvd... but always full of cars for many of the small and large shops here. Nice little break from the fastfood chains and the super busy areas, this shop has friendly staff and a decent eating and bar area. When I went here there were even a group of people with their laptops doing their fantasy football league. All the sandwiches sound good and looked good on Yelp. The Specialty sandwiches were large enough to fill you up or good enough to split to for a light not so heavy meal. This is the route my hubby and I went with and split the Tuna Specialty Sandwich. If you like sweet and tangy sauce you have to try thier house sauce! Overall good experience... looking forward to trying out some of their other items!

Yo man, about time you guys came around here! Large tasty, big mouth sandwiches, large TV's, a chill, non-pretentious surfer vibe inside and BEER. The interior is a little quaint but there's more seating out in back. You can eat at the bar too. Parking can be hit or miss, the spaces are Honda Civic-sized. If busy, you can call ahead. The dudes working here are cool, willing to get you what you need and keep this well-oiled machine firing on all cylinders. All in all, if I owned a sweet garage near the beach, turned it into a man cave...then into a sandwich joint..... this would be it. And I mean it, endearingly. :) Don't forget the napkins.

My boyfriend and I have gone to the Board and Brew in Pacific Beach previously. I actually prefer the Scripps Ranch location a lot more, as there is a bar that serves several different kraft brews on tap (happy hour $3, what a steal!) Also this location is more spacious, with both indoor and outdoor seating, which in my opinion creates a more relaxed environment. We always order separate sandwiches and switch halves. The sandwiches are pretty large so this system works great for us, since we both like trying different things. The orange sweet and sour sauce they have to absolutely ahhhh-maaaa-zing. I smother that stuff all over my sandwich and it instantly takes me to food heaven. My favorite sandwich so far has been the beef dip with au jus, which is also tasty with the sandwich (although I prefer the sweet and sour more). I only wish there was a location closer to La Jolla where I live, but I would still make the trip out here again! It's worth it.

glad there is a great sandwich spot in MM/Scripps! AMBIANCE: right when you walk in you start your experience to the left against the wall to stand in line to place your order and the bar against the opposite side of the room. the dining room extends to the rest of the space and a huge patio outside which you can bring along your dog via the side gate.Love that the theme is a surf/beach community vibe since this started San Diego - i believe Del Mar was the first location. FOOD: my go to is their TURKADO on squaw (the brown bread) no mayo - Guac, cheese, turkey, red onions, no mayo. There is bountiful amounts of freshly sliced turkey and the red onion and guac balance it out in every bite. The squaw bread adds a little sweetness over the typical sour dough. The BAJA WRAP is my other go to - wheat wrap, cut chicken, sauteed onions, tomatoes, lettuce, guac, cheese. SERVICE: these guys are great! This one specific day i tried to call our order in but they were super busy and never got back to the phone after several mins so i hung up and dialed back. When i arrived they were super sweet about it and offered a gift card and a small discount for their "mistake" - SO awesome! PRICES:about 8$ on avg for a sandwich, not a small helping keep in mind! PARKING: a lot that gets pretty packed during dinner!

An awesome spot for post-work dinner and beer. They definitely cater to the craft brew crowd, as they have an excellent selection of local brews. The person who selects them is definitely on point. They change them often and host various pint nights and other specials. Remembering back, there is probably about 25 on tap. The restaurant is very contemporary, and falls in line with the rest of the gentrified plaza. The occupancy would be estimated to be about 50 patrons, but I believe you'll most likely always be able to get a seat at the table or the bar. Turkado - The most popular sandwich here. Excellent combination of ingredients, all fresh. The avacado is appetizing and the whole sandwich is savory. Goes perfect with an IPA beer. Also, don't sleep on adding a bag of potato chips for a nice crunch with your sandwich. Parking - Kind of drag with all the updates the plaza has been going through. Lots of nice little restaurants in the area, as well a trader joe's and chuckee cheese. Good luck and pray to the parking fairies!

This place is awesome! You can't really go wrong when you're serving a couple of my favorite things, sandwiches and beer. This place has a really laid back vibe to it. They've got some cool decor and nice photography on the wall. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. I tried the Turkado sandwich and added bacon to it just like others have suggested. I forgot to have the bread toasted but everything still tasted great! The sandwich itself is huge with generous portions of turkey and bacon plus the guacamole is really tasty. Their sauce puts it over the top, definitely don't forget to ask for extra. Bummed that I haven't tried this spot sooner but I'm glad I found another good sandwich place!

"All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine." -Jeff Spicoli, Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) Board & Brew takes the sandwich shop, adds beer, and brings the skate/surf culture that embraces the laid back California vibe, dude. Good sandwiches and local craft beers are on the menu and they do take customer suggestions about what beer they should rotate into their tap list. The menu has some good stuff on there, plus snacks for the kiddos. Mini-me digs their grilled cheese sammich. I think the Left Coast Pastrami is my new fave with a few squeeze bottle hits of their sweet special sauce. The salad is a good size enough for sharing. We usually get the green salad with freshly sliced avocado. People are friendly and helpful. There's also an adjacent patio for folks to bring their furbabies and enjoy their snacks al fresco, taking in another beautiful day in San Diego. Cheers!

As promised, came back to try another sandwich and left totally happy this time. I got the turkado this time which is turkey, avocado, Jack cheese, lettuce & onions on sourdough. Waaayyy better as their French baguette was too bread-y for me. The avocado on it wasn't sliced like I was thinking but instead was a super tasty guac type deal. I was only able to eat half the sandwich and they have foil and paper bags next to their drinks so you can wrap up your leftovers easily. Their secret sauce- still DANK. Staff- still awesome, really friendly and helpful.

I first found out about this place from my boyfriend because his friend took him here. I usually don't like cold sandwiches but here I love the Turkado with bacon! Everything's better with bacon. The main reason why we keep coming back is for that sweet orange heavenly nectar that they call sauce. This sauce is one of a kind. Without this sauce, this place would just be another boring sandwich place (sorry Submarina & Subway). Sometimes I'm afraid to go here because on two separate occasions they actually ran out of bread. No I don't want squaw, sorry squaw lovers but I want bread! This actually made me leave both times. Please don't run out of bread.

Hands down my favorite sandwich shop in San Diego. Everything is just soooo good here! All the B&B regulars know that it's the sauce that makes the sandwich. I can never figure out the ingredients, but for sure there's gotta be balsamic vinegar in it!? Who knows, I guess I'll just have to keep coming back to have it here, haha. I've had friends who buy jugs of their sauce, but that's definitely doing too much for me. The sandwiches here are huge and cut in half, so most times I split with a friend or there's even an option to order just a half sandwich, so convenient! My number one usual is the baja chicken which has jalapeños and grilled chicken, and sandwiches that follow are the turkado and the tuna sandwich. I ask for 1 sauce per half of a sandwich, so if you can eat an entire sandwich I suggest you ask for 2 sauces. Most if not all of the sandwiches don't come toasted, but they can upon request. I like that they serve the Dirty brand kettle chips, and if you check in on yelp you even get a free fountain drink! They have tons of specials, the latest being $3 pints all month, which is awesome. You can call ahead so your sandwich is ready as you arrive, but even ordering there doesn't take that long of a wait--usually 5-10 minutes. There's both indoor and outdoor seating and it's usually pretty busy here. I also like how they leave out foil and bags for your leftovers. Damn it, my mouth is watering over the sauce after writing this review. Eat some for the both of us!

$3 pints for the month of August, how could I not like that? Hefty sandwich sizes here. Roast beef sandwich from the grill was delicious and the location is much more accessible and streamlined than the Del Mar location.

Phew Running around Miramar Lake is exhausting! We needed some sustenance. Location: On point. There is plenty of parking in this shopping center they share with tons of shops and restaurants. Food: Delicious. I ordered the chicken club, and was not disappointed. The chicken was fresh and the bread and sauce totally complimented it. The brews: very diverse tap selection. good job! They even had a strawberry ale, perfect for summer. The surroundings: could use improvement. Being inland, it's super important to make sure there's plenty of shade in your outdoor patio seating. Patrons were clutching to the walls to find shade.

Out in San Diego for vacation with my family soured to eat here. It's amazing. Everyone was happy with what they ordered. Italian sub which is Turkey and ham, different than usual Italian meats, yummy. Left coast pastrami, delicious. Turkado, you guessed it Turkey and avocado ordered on squaw bread, amazing! So they ask you if you want their secret sauce on the side, say YES, YES, YES. It's super deliciously amazing :-) They have a bar also to order craft beers, only complaint is no hard ciders. However, if your a fan of craft beer, during August their pints are $3.

I'd heard great things about B&B coastal, so was excited to hear they were coming to my neighborhood. Sandwich was great. Enjoyed the special sauce. But my Hefe was cloudy. I mean like a snow globe cloudy. Take a look at the attached picture. And my beer tender didn't even notice. Not sure I would come here for beer again.

Ok let me start off that August they are having $3 beers. That's the first treat. Beer tap selection was great. I had a milk stout. They have sandwiches for food. I got the pastrami sandwich it was really good. Julie had the same with the grilled onions. And she loved it. She got it with a side sauce to dip. Over all a great treat. And glad I came in August. I highly recommend it for lunch or a casual dinner.

My first encounter with Board and Brew (B&B) was out in Carlsbad. I loved the chill vibe, the fresh eats, and reasonable prices. It was nice to see another B&B open closer to us in Scripps Ranch. It's in the Trader Joe's plaza at the end of Mira Mesa.. near Gyukaku. This corner of the lot used to house a Mexican food and coffee shop.. but the digs were split to B&B and another Mediterranean joint. B&B definitely got the better end of the building with an outdoor patio and open layout in the main dining room. The menu is the same as in Carlsbad. Opted for the California Delight (I have a thing for sprouts) and husbter got Tom's delight. Both were fantastic. I loved the squaw, the gentle sprinkle of sunflower seeds and the creamy cream cheese with turkey. Hubster liked the meat to veggie ratio on his sandwich.. and of course.. both of us absolutely loved the special sauce (you have to get extra of the sauce). Fresh eats that will fill you up for a reasonable price. Nice sunny seating areas outside and in. Great service.. the guys look hard (tough) but they're very polite.. and a noteworthy bar (good line up of local brews) with tvs.. makes for a chill place to grab a bite and beers. We've added B&B to our list of favorite sandwich places and would return and recommend. It definitely outranks Subway, Jersey Mikes, and Which Which. Although the turkado seemed to be the most popular item.. the description just didn't seem like it was anything special (turkey with avocado) at the time of our visit. That said.. I'm open and receptive to trying it out the next time I come. I think what really makes this place stand out is the simplicity.. sometimes the best things in life don't need to be complex.. 4 stars solid with a definite re-return.

The best part about this place is their home made sauce. Nice and sweet, it goes well with all the sandwiches I've gotten from this place, including the salad! For 30$, we got 2 beers, a sandwich, and a full ceasars salad. For the sandwich, we chose Tom's choice, decent sized, they fill it with tons of meat and half of that was good to fill you up (if you eat a salad too of course)! If you get a "cold" sandwich, I recommend getting it toasted, gets the cheese a little melted and the bread a little crunchier. So much better. Always ask for extra sauce on the side too! The salad is pretty big, comes in a to-go container, with croutons, mean, cheese, enough to split between 2 people. Overall, atmosphere is really relax, laid back, never too crowded. Service is super friendly, quick. Not bad for a quick bite to eat, and a pint of beer to drink!

Hands down, Board and Brew is my favorite sandwich spot in San Diego. Their Chicken Club sandwich is such a tasty creation. It is marinated chicken breast, bacon and melted jack cheese on a toasted French baguette. It comes with tomatoes, lettuce and mayo. The French baguette is always perfectly toasted. Never once has the bread been soggy or stale. Dip this sandwich in their specialty orange sauce and you will understand why this is my favorite. My fiancé favors their pastrami sandwich. In his opinion, it is one of the best pastrami sandwiches he has ever had. That speaks volumes for a pastrami lover, so it must be that delicious! Love that this location has a fairly large outdoor area. They also have a good amount of local craft beers on tap at this location. What a perfect combo! Try the chicken club! You won't be disappointed!

My boyfriend and I had lunch here the past 2 days and we absolutely love it! All of their sandwiches are good (still want to try everything on the menu including the salads) but I usually get the Turkado because it's my favorite and ALWAYS satisfies my cravings. The turkado is huge and I can only eat half. Everyone that works there is super friendly and they make you feel welcome. Service is FAST even on busy days which is great! They have indoor and outdoor seating as well.

Gourmet sandwiches! I love the California Delight. I can never eat more than half. My husband and daughter love Tom's Special. We always get extra sauce in the side. my 4 year old loves the grilled cheese on squaw bread. Cool patio seating. Nice chill atmosphere.

The Turkado: this just may be the motherlode of turkey sandwiches. Hefty and full of a generous stack of sliced turkey, shredded lettuce, tomato and red onion, it's big enough for some to share. At least for me. The sourdough bread they serve it on is nice, soft and didn't shred the roof of my mouth from being overly toasted. YOUCH! They also offer a huge variety of "Dirty Chips", my favorite being Salt & Vinegar so your sandwich won't be lonely. For those that like to wash down their food with a cold brew, there's a sports bar to satisfy your thirst. And they also offer free WIFI for your surfing needs, although it can get a bit spotty in the Scripps Ranch area. I'll definitely return to try their Pastrami and other specials!

How I felt when this location came to Scripps and I no longer have to drive to Del Mar? "YELPIEEEEE" I've only had the Baja Chicken wrap and Turkado with Bacon. Always with 3 sides of their secret sauce, what can I say I can be a saucy lady ;) I know a lot of people say its the sauce and all about the sauce, but its their sandwiches too. And nope, they are NEVER feisty with any ingredients in their sandwiches. There are always an unbelievable amount of guacamole and turkey in the Turkado, in between the two soft and fresh sourdough bread. But the Turkado is not my favorite, the Baja Chicken wrap does indeed takes the spotlight, and no not the way Kanye West tried doing it to Taylor Swift at the VMAs. The Baja Chicken served in a wheat wrap with large chunks of Chicken breast, melted Jack Cheese and grilled onion just all compliment each other so much. Probably why I can never order anything else.

  • Saleen D.

Turkado FTW!!! It is so bomb & comes with turkey, a generous amount of avocado, tomato, onion, shredded lettuce, mayonnaise, cheese all between sourdough bread. I wish the bread was toasted or thicker because the sandwich was so huge that it was falling apart. & of course, you cannot forget the secret sauce which is happiness in a cup. I recommend asking for more secret sauce because I love drenching it all over my sandwich. Since their sandwiches are big, you will most likely get full off of 1/2, which is a plus because you will have food for dinner. Service is fast & they have a ton of workers to accommodate you. Also, as the name states there is brew & a separate section to drink & watch TV.

  • Melissa A.

Laid back place to grab a sandwich, a local beer & hang out in their patio. Can't get any better for a sunny San Diego day! I recommend getting the Turkado sandwich, but of course with their famous sweet & sour sauce. Don't forget their hot sauce, it's just as good. I've also tried their Baja Wrap, which was loaded with chicken. If you want a beef sandwich, get the Baja Beef. So juicy & loaded with flavor!! Their sandwiches are large & my husband & I usually only finish half of our sandwiches. I'll be here more as summer is almost here!

Me and my girlfriend decided to come here for a lunch date and I was impressed! This place isn't that packed and the workers are all soo chill and nice. Love the vibe. As we were eating multiple workers continuously checked up on us. They even let you sample beers. I'm not a beer type of person but I liked their strawberry blonde mixed with something else. I got their warm sandwich where you dip it in this soup broth. And their specialty sauce is TO DIE FOR!!! Their sandwiches are not the cheapest but the portion is a lot and it's delicious! I love their location because theirs plenty of parking that is not compact.

Massive, filling and delicious sandwiches! I ordered Tub O' Tuna and it was bursting with tuna meat, avocado, tomato slices and crunchy lettuce. It came on the squaw bread, which added just a tad of sweetness. All the ingredients went prefect together. I was stuffed just from one half of the sandwich and finished the other one for dinner. Prices are beyond reasonable for the value you get and the price you see on the board already includes tax. Its a cool and casual spot with a surf inspired decor throughout the restaurant. Local craft beer is on tap as well.

My Bestfriend took me here for a delicious end of the day "catch-up" meal. I had the Turkado. THE SAUCE. I'm a sauce lover myself; can I PLEASE get this sauce in a jar, in bulk. Amazing. For a Friday afternoon, it was very relaxing sitting outside in the mini patio area. Great service from the cashier! Will definitely be coming back more often, when I'm in the area.

We visited this new location late last year when they first opened. They are located in the same plaza as Trader Joes, Chuck e Cheese, Gyu-Kaku, and Bruski's. The parking is tough during lunch time as the private lot gets swarmed with hungry patrons during the noon hour. I was surprised to see a spacious patio to the back of the restaurant. I wonder if it's dog friendly? There's a menu board you can look up at to gauge what you'd like to order. You order and pay with the cashier. They will bring out the order to your table. We ordered: TURKADO $6.95 I had no clue what to order so my friends had suggested this Specialty at Board and Brew. What I noticed first was that it's a bit of a messy sandwich which doesn't bother me at all. Messy doesn't mean bad tasting ya know what I mean. I also spotted the bubbly crust of the sourdough bread - do you see it too. This is what someone told me was a great sign that it will be a great bread. When I opened the sandwich though I was a bit disappointed by the quantity of stuffing in the Turkado. Everyone had boasted how STUFFED to the brim the sandwiches were and how one could barely fit half a sandwich into their ENTIRE mouth. I mean, seriously, maybe I have dislocating anaconda jaws (which I don't so calm down) because the sandwich wasn't all that big. The freshly shredded messy lettuce tasted crisp and refreshing (maybe a tad wet though) but that's mostly what I tasted that day. BAJA CHICKEN This was friend's pick and he enjoyed this warm sandwich. The French baguette had a nice crunch to it and all the ingredients tasted mighty fresh. The chicken breast looks a bit thin/scarce though. And my take on their secret sauce: Again, the boys had raved about this so of course, I was excited to try this sauce. I didn't quite understand the taste and immediately decided it wasn't for me. Lauren T from yelp said it best by describing the sauce as a combo between a thousand island dressing & a french dressing'. On a side note: I've read the owners comments on the sauce and I totally appreciate how they understand that it's nothing personal if one doesn't like the sauce. Shouldn't 'sauce' be replaced with 'whatever you hate in life' in that last sentence. Point being, it's cool when owners get that everyone has their own personal taste and that's that. I'd try Board and Brew again if I'm in the area. They seem to have a huge fan base so it's fun to see this chain come to this part of town.

This is by far one of the best places to eat! Their baja beef and chicken caesar salads are delicious! And have you had their secret sauce?!! Its mind blowing and you can pour it on anything! If you see you a bad review for this place, which I did read one or two is because they (the yelper) are BASIC! lol I'm so awful! On a serious note, I usually place large orders through their catering with Dillian and Katie. They make the process painless and quick. Dillian delivers on time! Food is yummy. I have no complaints! Will definitely order more food soon!

Wow wasn't expecting much, but this place is awesome! their sandwiches are really solid here. I came here with my girlfriend and we shared a turkado sandwich and they heated it up for us. It turned out to be a really great deli sandwich. the turkey was good, the avocados were awesome and the portion was pretty generous! We also shared a casear salad with chicken, and that too was also very large. The salad and sandwich were both enough for the 2 of us to be completely full. and to top it off they have a great selection of beer which only complimented everything for the better! I'd highly recommend this place if your looking for a good sandwich and beer. the price is reasonable and the food is superb.

We came back this weekend to try more. This time we got the Turkado, Baja chicken and Baja beef. I must say we were pretty satisfied. The special sauce takes the sandwiches over the top. Boards and Brew is now one of our favorite sandiwich shops.

I love this place, so so much. I've been to all of their locations in San Diego, and this is their newest one. The great thing about this location is that it tries to preserve the feel of the original Del Mar location, but still feels new, fresh and exciting. The staff are incredibly nice and great at customer service. The food is exactly as I would expect it to be, the same as at the other two locations. My favorite sandwich is still the Chicken Club with the sauce and I'm very glad to see they're not stingy with the side sauce. They are also going to have a bar fairly shortly, like the Carlsbad location, but they're still waiting on the liquor license whichw ill be nice because they have a fairly large outdoor patio area as well if you'd like to eat outside.

This place is new and their sandwiches are GOOD! Try the "turkado" (add bacon) on your first visit, then come back to try every other sandwich available. Make sure to top it off with that secret sauce. 16 oz pints of beer were on special for $3/each and you get a free soda if you write a yelp review. I don't think these specials will last too long. I will be back to try something new!

I really really liked Board & Brew. It's not a transcend sandwich that is different from anything you've ever seen. They just offer extremely good takes on classic combinations. Loaded with fresh, tasty ingredients, that's sometimes exactly what you're looking for in a sandwich shop. They offer a killer beer menu of local craft favorites and the service here was great. I was standing around waiting for my to go order and they checked in to make sure they knew where it was in the queue. Also, the secret sauce, delish.

I love this place!! I really enjoyed and recommend the TURKADO, which has turkey, jack cheese, avocado, onions, lettuce, and mayo on sourdough bread...it wouldn't be the same without the special sauce!!! You must say yes when they ask you! DELICIOUS. I took a bite of the Tub O' Tuna, which was like my sandwich but with tuna instead of turkey and served on a darker bread. It was just as good...pretty sure I'm going to order it next time! Both sandwiches came out within 5 min of ordering The environment is very new, modern, and definitely California themed with the surfboards, skateboards, and photos of beaches on the walls. Felt right at home. TVs by the bar and a patio area in the back is a plus. Two thumbs up and 5 stars no doubt

This place is out of this world if you haven't been you must go it's bomb!

I will say that when I did go in, I saw multiple people enjoying themselves. It may be just that it is a place that you go more than once. I have a very high rating on sandwiches because I love Subway and Jersey Mikes, and it personally wasn't as good, but mediocre was definitely a strong word to describe your food.

I got the Tom's Choice and it was legit. Roast Beef tasted good and not over cooked and chewy like most places. The meat had the nice pink color of a well made roast beef. I also liked their bread choices. Cuddos for serving french baquettes and keeping a good bread and meat ratio which is key for a good sandwich. Good marks for bread, special sauce (reminded me of Louie dressing), good bread/meat ratio, and laid back vibe. A little warning: wait might be a little dicey during the lunch rush so it's a good idea to phone ahead. Wait wasn't long but every minute counts for lunch breaks. Overall, awesome sandwich for a good price. I'm all in.

While this Board & Brew doesn't have the same beachy vibe as the original location in Del Mar, I'm just so glad to have be able to get my favorite sandwiches in half the time. As long as the taste is the same, which it is, then I'm happy.

Holy Sandwich! I am pretty stoked with life right now with my decision to hit this spot up! I was hungry not really sure what I wanted; decided I wanted a sandwich. This tub o tuna is delicious! everything I usually like on my tuna x10 on the ingredients and freshness / quality! I didn't know what to expect but when I was handed my bag it felt like a brick. I got home and was delightfully surprised at the portion and after the first bite am beyond pleased with my decision. I will be in a food coma with just a half of a half this thing is so massive and filling!! The bread is YUM and the sauce to die for. Board and brew definitely nailed it - freakin UHmazin! I will most def be adding this spot to my favs. Worth the wait and prices! Go now!

This place makes me wanna say, "whaaazz upp, chill place bro!" Great location to grab a quick sandwich, no fuss meal served with beer. The cold sandwiches can be ordered as half sizes, which I dig. I grabbed a half Tub "O" Tuna, and it was a good size generously filled with tuna, lettuce, avocado, onion, and tomato. They serve their sandwiches with something they call "the sauce." When I asked what is "the sauce?" the guy said it was kinda like a sweet and sour type sauce. At first thought, I wanted to say no thanks, but said sure instead. Best decision I ever made. That sauce is MONEY, that's right MONEY. Any sauce like that I might contemplate bathing in. Bottle up and sell that shizz. I have no idea what it is, but it is DELICIOUS. I dipped my sandwich and my Dirty maui onion chips in it. Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu.

Not as good as the Del Mar location, but close enough to get the job done. Reasonable prices, good sandwiches, quick service - I'm a fan. Parking lot is big and not a lot of people have heard about this location or something because it's still very quiet the last two times I came here, compared to the Del Mar one.

Board & Brew is one if not my favorite sandwich place. Chicken club is on point every time but make sure you get extra sauce because it's amazing. Highly recommend this place to others

I've only had the pleasure of trying this place once but have long heard good things from family and friends. I finally got to try it recently and could not decide what sammie I wanted. I seriously asked my husband if it would be all right to get two sammies so I could save one for later just because I wanted to try as many as possible. Unfortunately, I was denied so I shall have to wait for my next visit to try more items. In the meantime, I can tell you all about the amazing California Delight sandwich that I took down all by myself and how I thoroughly enjoyed doing so. Can I also just say that I'm normally not a sandwich person? It's true. I have no desire to eat cold sandwiches. They just are not my friends for some reason. Which is why my husband was so surprised when I chose the CA Delight sammie instead of a hot sammie. The reason is simple. Cream cheese. This baby has cream cheese with turkey and a bunch of veggies like sprouts. Even with the delicious cream cheese, it doesn't feel heavy or unhealthy to eat. It's a huge sammie but I was determined to take it down...and I did. The sammie didn't stand a chance. I can't way to try other items!

Wow went for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how Fresh and absolutely TASTY it was. I shared the Baja Wrap which is plenty for two people. Maybe not in the U.S. Anyway if you love sandwiches and wrap this is the place to hit up. Also they offer GrassFeed beef options

I was excited to try this place because of the stellar reviews but after my experience I was a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong. This place isn't bad at all....I don't have any complaints. I had the french dip sandwich and it was perfectly acceptable, just nothing standout for me I guess.

First time here and will definitely be coming back for their delicious sandwiches. The turkado was delicious and came with loads of avocado, I appreciate it when restaurants don't skimp on the avocado. The sourdough bread was so soft and delicious. So glad that I gave this place a try!

This new hidden gem in Scripps ranch is legit. They have absolutely the best sandwiches and salads in the area. I just scarfed down the left coast pastrami sandwich and is amazing. The staff is courteous and friendly, service is quick and prices are great. Must try!!!

Super nice people, on top cleaning, serving and making it a friendly, chill environment. My fav is the chicken club. I had the cali delight cause I love cream cheese but it fell apart because the bread got all soaked so I'd watch out for that. Maybe order it with diff bread. Love the place tho!

This board and brew is definitely one of my "go-to" spots. FIRST of all, it has the word "brew" in their name, that already itself has my heart. They got a selection of beers on tap and I'm pretty sure it's switched up every now and then. Their sandwiches are pretty much on point. My favorite is their chicken club with avocado and I get this sweet sauce with it and it's Delicious. Their Baja beef is pretty yummy too! I've never had their cold sandwiches before but I'm assuming it's as amazing as their hot sandwiches. The atmosphere of this place just makes you feel like you're a total San Diegan to me. I feel like I'm literally at the beach when really in just in an area in scripps ranch. Customer service is always on point and the workers their are super friendly. Dillian usually helps me out and he's totally awesome whenever he helps me out, so shout out to him! Oh, Don't forget to tip them because they sure do deserve it!

5 star BEST SANDWICH EVER!!!! BEST SERVICE, BEST ATMOSPHERE, BEST NOISE LEVEL, BEST CLEANLINESS, BEST ALLLL AROUND....BEST TEAM (workers, staff, whatever you want to call them). I didn't even know the shop was there, just happened to park in front of it to go to an appointment at another food establishment...needless to say, I didn't make it to that appointment. From entering the door and seeing how clean the restaurant was, to how it was decorated, to how the staff greeted me I knew this place was going to be good! Dillan gave me some recommendations as I told him I don't eat anything w/ 4 legs or from the ocean...I honestly just said I want some kind of grilled chicken...He made me a chicken sandwich and I left...I got home and ate it (shared w/ the dog) and WE BOTH APPROVE 100000000%!! BEST SANDWICH in SD so far!! We will be back! Thanks Dillan ;)

I honestly can't find one reason why I wouldn't rate this place 5 stars. The food and service is always consistent and I've never made one complaint. I still remember the pure happiness I had from eating my first Board & Brew sandwich in Carlsbad... I get that same feeling each and every time I eat at at this location. I cannot explain to you how grateful I am to have a board & brew location here in Mira Mesa/ Scripps so if you haven't tried it yet, TRY IT! The one sandwich I always gravitate to is the TURKADO (turkey and avocado). This one never fails me. One sandwich is enough to share for two but sharing should not even be an option. You will either want to finish the whole sandwich or just wanna save the other half for later (yes, it's that good). I can't forget to mention they serve beer and have TVs! Come here to catch up with some friends or watch sports, I guarantee you'll be enjoying it over some delicious sandwiches that don't take long to prepare- they come out in minutes!

Yum!! We happened to come across this place while on our way to Play It Again Sports. I ordered the Chicken Club and my husband had the Beef Dip. Both were delicious! Get their sauce on the side...so good! Also, we ordered beers...I had the Legacy - That Guava and my husband had the Butcher's - Old Sow...both were good! Friendly service, delicious food and great beers - what more could you ask for?

I've been to their Del Mar location and glad I found this one. Came here for an early dinner. Less busy and super clean. I ordered their Turkado sandwich. The cashier was super cheerful and friendly. Yay! Their secret sauce is so delicious. Make sure you say yes when they ask you for it!

Ive gone to this place about five times and the taste is imo more consistent than some of the other places like the one off del mar heights along the coast I crave the Baja beef and the beef au ju dip. Excellent choices if you aren't sure but was a very colorful taste. The sweet and sour sauce is addicting. Much like the way siriacha sauce is

Finally got to try this samich place after our bike ride around Lake Miramar! Had the Turkado and loved it. They pile the turkey and avocado on and I could barely bite into it!! Yum!!! Their special sweet and sour sauce is a nice addition as well. And I love that they offer sprouts! I haven't seen the chain sandwich places offer sprouts and I love them on sammies!! The cool surf and skateboard decor is awesome and I love that I can have a great sandwich along with an ice cold beer!

Love this place! Big sandos and a great beer selection. My daughter and I were both full after eating our meals. I went with the beef dip. They are quick at getting the food out. This place is popular so scoring a table is sometimes difficult.

I never bothered to patronize, Java Mama Cafe, so I'm not sure if it was a great loss to the Scripps Ranch community, but Board and Brew is definitely a welcomed addition to my taste buds. Upon first glance, the menu isn't extensive, nor the options that unique or exciting. My mom has had catered sandwiches from their Del Mar location, and highly recommended the turkado. The turkado looks like your average turkey sandwich with avocado, but somehow it tastes better than most turkey sandwiches you'll ever have. I attribute this to quality and fresh ingredients. Don't forget to say "Yes" to their sweet and sour sauce. No, it isn't your typical sweet and sour (don't think of it like the Asian variety), it's more like a cross between 1000 Island and French dressing. It's hard to describe... just try it!

My bf and I tried Board & Brew for the first time on Saturday. The sandwiches definitely exceeded my expectations. My bf ordered the Roast Beef Spicy and I ordered the Turkado with added bacon. The Roast Beef was really good and I like that they did not skimp on how much au jus dip they gave out. I really enjoyed my Turkado. I would have loved it more if there was more bacon but I just like bacon a bit too much. The sauce is bombbb. Our sandwiches were bigger than we expected and everything tasted great! The pints were only $3 and they have plenty on tap. We sat at the bar and I LOVE that they have hooks under the counter to hang purses. Good looking out, B&B! I think this place offers a pretty good value and I am looking forward to trying more on their menu!

Great sandwiches , but lately they are always out of something! Del mar was out of bread, scripps ranch out of avocado! Hello, there is a store a few doors down called Trader Joes that can sell you avocados ! When the majority of your sandwiches have avocado, you should never run out! Top it all off, they charge $1.50 to add avocado, but when they run out, we had to battle to even get a 10 percent discount! We are regular customers but don't start taking us for granted! Hope this place doesn't forget what made them popular!

I very happy to learn that Board and Brew is spreading its wing for the pure fact that they make some terrific sandwiches couples with great friendly service. On this visit, at this new location, I ordered the infamous Turkado with added bacon because that is the way I roll. The Turcado came on sour dough bread and I had it with no mayo. On the side, I had a bag of Dirty Black Pepper and Sea Salt chips and an unlimited ice tea ( yelp.com/biz_photos/boar… ). The Turkado came handsomely loaded with all its ingredients, from the fresh and savory sliced turkey, to the piles of house avocado spread, and to the fresh crisp greens ( yelp.com/biz_photos/boar… ). The only thing I would like say in playing devil's advocate would be, "more cheese and bacon please," although they tasted great, more is better in this case. The bacon was highly flavorful and provided some nice texture in the sandwich, hence the reason why added it. I am so glad they halve the sandwich because it is a load to manage, in a good way of course. Everything was delicious in the sandwich and the sourdough bread was very moist. The dirty chips were great and the best part about eating them was putting some of that great house sauce on them. The chips had great character with out it, but with it, it gave them some zing ( yelp.com/biz_photos/boar… )! The place is great! They provide free WiFi service with electrical and USB plug for charging your electronic items. The service is very upbeat and super friendly. Also, did you know, as part of their secret menu, you can get them to make you a BLT with that terrific bacon?? Bacon...

This place is overrated. My sandwich was decent and the ingredients were fresh. The service was fast. However, I don't understand the abundance of 5 star ratings on Yelp. Especially, if you compare Board & Brew to other sandwich shops in town. The sandwiches themselves are pretty basic/standard. There's nothing really special or different about them. I guess what sets this place apart from other sandwiches shops in San Diego is that they offer a nice selection of beers on tap and they've concocted a signature sauce(s) to accompany the sandwiches. I ordered the Turkado and added bacon and cucumber. The standard Turkado comes w/ turkey, avocado, jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and mayo on sourdough bread. Upon receiving my sandwich I noticed it was missing tomato. I brought this to the attention of a staff member and was given tomato on the side. Aside from that, the sandwich was piled high with other ingredients. The sandwich came with Board & Brew's signature/special sauce. I was not a fan of the sauce. It was way too sweet for my taste. The sauce kind-of reminded me of sweet & sour sauce, French and/or thousand island dressing with garlic, Cheyenne pepper (or some other chile), vinegar, olive oil and a TON of sugar added. They also had another house made hot sauce. The hot sauce was a little less sweet and had a good flavor. I'm assuming it was made with habanero. I put the hot sauce and salt and pepper on my sandwich... It needed something extra to give it more flavor. The customer service overall could have been better. When I went to the cashier to place my order I was not greeted by the young lady assisting me. She wasn't smiling. It just seemed like she didn't want to be there. I didn't get much of a friendly vibe from any of the staff during my visit. However, on a more positive note, the amount of time it took to place my order and receive my food was quick which is a plus. But then again, rushing to prepare and deliver the sandwich could explain why they left an ingredient (tomato) off. All in all, the sandwiches at Board & Brew are decent, but nothing to rave about. The service during my visit was lack luster. I would probably come back to B & B. It's just not at the top of my list for American style sandwiches in SD.

If you're sick and tired of eating Asian food around Mira Mesa this is the place to be. Sandwiches here never fail to satisfy my cravings. They also have for beers. Beers and sandwich!!! Can't go wrong with that. This will be one of my football games hangouts!!!

The sandwiches here were outstanding! On a previous visit I had the Turkado but tried the Tub O' Tuna today. It met all my expectations. The staff here is always so professional and super helpful. I have not had a bad experience or bad food here and I don't think I ever will. I highly recommend this. I can't wait to try their hot sandwiches!

A 5 star review is not enough to express how happy I am that they opened one is Scripps! Falcon for life (this my hood)! Specialty sandwiches and craft beer is what these guys are known for. You wouldn't expect a sandwich shop to have a bar serving good quality beers on tap just by looking from the outside. Great place to grab a bite to-go, sit and eat with friends, or watch the game and have a beer or two. My favorite: Turkado sammich - Mayo, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, turkey & avocado served on sourdough bread. Don't forget to ask for the bread to be toasted! Or else your bread will get soggy faster. I love to eat it with their original secret sauce, but it's delicious without too. Don't worry, not about the sauce? They put it on the side for ya.

My coworkers and I came here for lunch today. It was my first time and the cashier, I'm sure, could tell. I ordered the Baja chicken wrap on wheat and it was so good! Lots of chicken, creamy avocado, lettuce, onion, tomato (all fresh toppings), and came with their special secret sauce on the side which I used for dressing my wrap. Best part was sitting outside on their patio. Relaxation + good food = successful lunch

The Trader Joe's shopping center in Scripps Ranch is quickly becoming a go-to destination for dining out, what with restaurants like Kappa Sushi, Manila Sunset, and Bruskis carving out their respective niches in the area. Into the mix is now a new sandwich option called Board & Brew. During my most visit trip to TJ's yesterday, I saw that they were open and gave them a shot. My order was for their Roast Beef Spicy ($7.25) - this is made with freshly baked roast beef and melted Swiss cheese with grilled onions and jalapenos on a toasted French baguette, with au jus sauce and dijon mustard, with house horseradish on request. I added an order of Maui Onion Dirty Chips ($1.50), and a fountain drink ($1.95). Unfortunately, Board & Brew doesn't have their alcohol license yet, but they will be getting their temporary one on the 15th of this month. So, how was the sandwich? Actually, it was pretty good - the roast beef, melted cheese, and grilled onions and peppers made for a good mix, and the jalapenos weren't too spicy. The bread was toasty and was pretty chewy. In fact, the sandwich was so filling, I brought half of it home! The decor of the restaurant is So Cal surfer chic, with various boards, artwork, and merch (hats and t-shirts) on display. There's a beautiful patio outside that has a great view overlooking the freeway and neighborhood that I'd like to have a meal at soon. The staff are friendly enough, and there's 3 flat-screen TVs showing various sporting events. Parking can be tough - especially on the weekends - so get here early if you can. Great food, great ambiance, great people - can't wait to come back to try the brews soon (and to maybe get a cookie)!

Board & brews great if you like a good variety of beer. They change out their taps often and always have something new! The employees here are great ... They actually talk to you and get to know you. :) August is their anniversary month so $3 craft beer pints!!!! YES...only $3!!!! If you're hungry, try their turkado w/extra sauce...their pastrami is bomb too.

The Avacado spread they have is friggin awesome! Best I've ever had. I get it on every sandwich I get there. Good outdoor area to sit and eat. Good craft beers to enjoy on that patio with some shade. Good work y'all

You know what I love about Board & Brew? Consistency. it's not everyday you find a restaurant or several restaurants owned together that deliver the same high quality food. Sure, I can get the same low quality sandwich at some other nameless joints around the world but not like these guys. I am so happy that this location has opened up. They are not the closest location to my house or my work but they are open late and near all the shopping areas here in SR. They boast a huge indoor seating area and an even larger outside seating area. Now it doesn't have the same people watching you get at Carlsbad Village but the outdoor patio overlooks the city and at night it lights up. The inside of this location has killer art work on the walls, around the seating area and even down the hallway with their Surfboard art deco piece. Everyone at this locations as I have seen from the other locations is extremely friendly and always happy to help in any way they can. The food is always cooked fresh and made to order. Being the picky eaters that we are we have learned exactly how to order our sandwiches so they come out perfect for us. Baja Chicken no mayo no cheese & Chicken Club no cheese no mayo BACON on the side and then we swap each others bacon for jalapeños hahaha. My only concern on the food .... cookies, the cookies run out too fast. I should prolly get here earlier (or they are trying to tell us to lay off the cookies) I hear the BREW part of this location should be coming around in the next 3 weeks. So fingers crossed that happens because I would love to enjoy a nice brew while sitting and watching the games on 1 of the 2 tvs on the wall. These guys definitely have a recipe for success paired with great food, good atmosphere and positive vibes all around. Keep serving food like this and we will be customers for life.

Smart of them to open in scripps. Becoming a staple! Beer in tap and good sandies. What more can you ask for? Did I say tv's, good prices, and TWINS!!? Lol Seriously though, great place. Where sombreros was

HUGE sandwiches! I really like the Turkado - turkey + avocado :P Their sandwiches are so large, one of my bites can only taste half of the bread and filling!!! I really need to learn how to squish the sandwich down early on. I somehow always forget to do that until the sandwich falls apart =/ Their SECRET SAUCE compliments the sandwich so well!!! They have this spicy sauce near their soda fountain... take heed, its SPICY alright. A little sure goes a long way in this case. I've also tried their Tub o' Tuna (comes with avocado) and it's pretty good, but the Turkado is definitely my favorite. They also serve beer here, of course :D The guys that work there are super chill. Just walking into the place makes me feel light minded and happy. I'll definitely come back as I have already recommended this place to soooooo many people. I really don't think you can go wrong with any sandwich here.

The sandwiches here taste downright fresh. Plain & simple, and just what you need if you have a hankering for a sammy with no frills at a fair price. They're also huge so if you're worried about leaving hungry, have no fear. Service was friendly, and there are plenty of seats both inside and outside. The boyfriend and I split a chicken club and a turkado--they didn't disappoint. My only gripe may be that the turkey and chicken alone on their own tasted slightly salty, but encompassed in their sandwich counterparts, they tasted fine. As of 8/28, no beer just yet. Just space for approx. 15 taps. Fingers crossed that they'll have a good selection of craft with decent prices.

  • Jack G.

This place offers fresh, tasty, decently-priced sandwiches. Definitely try their Turkado. The California Delight is also a good choice if you're not a fan of avocados. You can also ask them to toast any sandwich in case you like hot/toasted sandwiches. The service here was great. Workers came to our table often to ask how things were and to see if we needed anything. They were very friendly and serviceable. Once we were all done eating, they promptly collected our trash and trays.

So I've been a frequent customer for a while now and I have to change my 5 star because of the two times the "special sauce" caused me problems. The first time we had a problem was just shortly after I had given my 5 star review (sometime after 10/31/14) for this place. The special sauce had seemed to be a bit of a darker color but my fiance and I brushed this appearance off and still ate it. The result was that we both had horrid stomach aches from the special sauce. It had been the only thing we had both eaten that day so we were sure it was board and brews sandwiches. I mentioned this incident to the owner and he said he would look into it. He was very kind about it so instead of updating my review or never going back here I let it go as a one time thing. So of course, I'm here again today because last night (06/01/15) we went for sandwiches. Everyone is nice there as usual but we got home and the special sauce tasted like dirt. It was absolutely disgusting. My fiance had eaten first and stopped eating then he waited for me to eat to see if I would respond the same way he did. I did! We never eat the same type of sandwiches so we new it had to either be the bread or the sauce. We both ended up throwing the sandwiches in the trash because we thought it was the bread at first. But as I was handing over my sauces to my fiance for the trash I remembered I had a problem before with the sauce so I tried it alone. Yup! The disgusting flavor was because of the sauce. I don't like my money being wasted but I guess I'm glad I didn't get the runs this time. Sigh, I'm going to leave a 3 star because I've been there so many times and had no problems. Those times it was absolutely amazing. But unfortunately, we're done here.

I've been here twice now and I really enjoy the sandwiches. While I prefer a little more turkey, the price is right for the sandwich. Our sandwiches came out quickly, and tasted fresh. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and well kept both times I've been there. There are individual tables and community seating (not my favorite). I like that parking is usually very easy, regardless of what time I've gone.

Great place for sandwiches! You can forget about Subway. Basic sandwiches but super tasty because of high quality ingredients and generous meat portions with a BOMB sweet and sour sauce that you must have on every bite. Ask for extra! I recommend the Turkacado, or Baja chicken but you can't go wrong with anything here. Voo do chips - funky fusion is my fave.

I hit up Dillan for a catering gig ... for 420 people!! I had heard GREAT things about the sandwiches from Board & Brew so I figured I would give them a shot!! We ended up ordering 74 trays with 12 halves of sandwiches, 68 doz cookies, 400 bags of chips and enough plates, napkins & condiments, especially the "secret sauce" for ALL!!! Let me say these guys hit it OUT OF THE BALLPARK with a GRAND SLAM homerun!!!! I know I pushed Dillan & crew to their limits and they came through!! Our event was a HUGE success and EVERYONE from the CEO to the constructions guys raved about the food and how wonderful it all was!! We will certainly be suing them again for future events :) THANKS BOARD & BREW - Scripps Ranch for a job well done and totally worth 5 STARS!!!

Thanks for opening this location near home. Now it's turkado anytime without driving to Del Mar for me. This place just open and every time I am there, she packs a crowd. I am not much of a beer fan, so can't say how those drafts taste. For me it's the wich, and with so many different places, Board and Brew stands tall above all. Note: no matter which sandwich I pick, I always get the secret sauce on the side. Don't know what's in it, just know it's delicious. Welcome to Scripps, you are my fav 'wich place in the neighborhood.

Visit here due to a friends recommendation. Glad she did because my old sandwich joint closed down. :( I was annoyed that some random guy stoled my tiny parking spot but it did not deter me from getting a sandwich! I ordered the Turkey Club which is ok. They could have added pickles and tomatoes to make it whole. The bacon and turkey topped with shredded lettuce did do its justice but not enough.... until the sauce came along. House sauce paired with spicy sauce gives it the over-the-top taste that I was looking for. My friends pastrami sandwich was good on its own. Glad we swapped our halves to have variety. I also had a chance to try the chicken sandwich as well. Tasty with every bite. Bun is a bit thick and the middle could have had a little more substance but... sauce came to the rescue! Without it, I would have probably gave them a strong three star but the sauce truly elevates it into the 4 star category by my book. Didn't try their beer since its 12pm and last nights aftermath still persist a lingering effect. Sandwich did hit the spot. I would definitely return to this place and try out their other sandwiches. I would also request additional materials in my next sandwich to my liking as well. Love the wall decor btw.

Giving this place 5 stars because it NEVER fails to satisfy my sandwich cravings with ANY sandwich I try here. I've had the turkado, baja beef, baja chicken, baja wrap and their green salad with the choice of avocado. Every one of these was perfect and delicious! My goal is to try their whole menu and I can't wait! I also like that they came out with a spicy sauce. It doesn't really have any taste but you can really feel the heat. I'm not a big fan of their sweet sauce cause I'm not a big fan of sweet foods. The staff here is really friendly too! Got a smile on their face the whole time and they just do a great job making you feel welcomed. Another plus is that they serve beer! I haven't tried their beers yet but I'm sure it's a great combination with their delicious sandwiches. I will MOSDEF be back here when I need to get my sandwich cravings fixed! Thank you Board and brew for having a location in Mira Mesa!

I think I may have had the best turkey sandwich thus far in life. I stopped by for lunch on a Sunday and this place was packed. Don't let the line discourage you though because this place cranks out some amazing sandwiches. Based off everyones recommendations on Yelp I got the Turkado with bacon and a side of their secret sauce. I'm a huge avocado fan and this came with a pretty big serving of it. It was falling all over the place but I did't complain. The turkey portion was also pretty big. Bread was very soft and fluffy. Now the secret sauce itself is a bit too sweet for me. I'm not a huge sweets person but with the sandwich it was pretty damn amazing. My only gripe was the bacon. Although it was very crispy there just wasn't enough of it. I think there were only 2 slices on the whole sandwich so there were some baconless bites I had to suffer through. The service here is quick and friendly. Once you place your order everything comes out in a timely manner. If you want there is a bar where you can grab a beer. You can even suggest beers you would like featured here. There's a patio out back if the inside gets too packed. Overall a legit sandwich shop straight in the middle of Scripps. We don't have to drive to Del Mar anymore!

This location has now added the essential "brew" portion of their restaurant name. There is a craft beer section that serves it's local picks along with their sandwich choices. I am glad that this restaurant has been able to complete all of its licenses and feature all that is "board & brew" Whether you're in it for the boards, brews, or both, you will not be disappointed with your choice in sandwich or beer.

Turkado sandwich with sprouts on a baguette bun is my all time favorite. They should name it after me :)

You know, I find myself tending to write reviews when I'm on one end or the other of love or disdain for an eatery. It's really hard to write a review when you are stuck near the middle... And in short, that's where Board and Brew fell for my wife and I. The longer version goes like this... After several weeks of having this place on our radar we gave it a try on a Saturday around 1:00 pm. Nice atmosphere overall with a order your food counter, a beer bar with a couple of TVs playing sports, a handful of tables, as well as a patio. The staff was very friendly and on top of it, even though the place was quite busy. We ordered the Beef Dip and Left Coast Pastrami. The Beef was ok and I must say nice and tender. Yet it was insipid and the au jus and horseradish sauce didn't help much. We added some table salt and it helped a little, but anyone that's had a Sunday roast knows, if you don't season the meat proper before roasting, you will never get that delicious roasted flavor. The Pastrami was better and had pretty good flavor. I think the grilled onions could use some more grilling. They were translucent at best, yet the flavor was good. The biggest downfall to this sandwich is dryness. I added some mayo from the packet and that actually brought the sandwich flavor and balance way up. They also give you a side of their house sauce, which I would describe as a classic French dressing thinned down and with a touch of added vinegar. I tried some of that on both and it just overpowered the flavor. I imagine this would be good with their chicken or turkey sandwiches, but it doesn't work well with beef. So that brings me back to the beginnings of this review where I'm kinda stuck in "meh". The location was nice, the staff was really great, quality ingredients, the flavor so-so. So that leaves me with the question that I now use as my wrap-up to any review, "Would I go back for more?" If someone else is buying or I have a BOGO coupon, sure.

Sat at the bar and waited for over 5 minutes with no acknowledgement that I was there. Tried to make eye contact with the server several times just to get a menu, but to no avail. Another worker came up and poured a beer for another customer, thinking I'd have a chance to get his attention. Dude with the black earrings paid more attention to his phone charging and was not aware of new customers that sat down. I like how the the vibe is laid back, but it looks like the customer service is too laid back as well. Didn't have the opportunity to order anything since I was on a time crunch.

Great sandwiches! The prices are very reasonable for the massive size of the sandwiches and you can easily share them with someone or save it for later. Their portions of meat and veggies are very generous! The secret sauce is AMAZING, Free and I highly recommend trying it, it makes the sandwiches even better! Their homemade potato salad is really good and tastes very homemade style. The cookies are 50 cents each and soooo good! This place is a nice easy place to stop for lunch. Enjoy the nice music and atmosphere or watch a game on their tv at the bar. I notice they like to keep their beers changing to support local brewery's. My favorite is the Turkado with sprouts and their secret sauce!

As a laid-back sandwich shop, it doesn't get much better than this. Out of all their sandwiches, the Turkado in particular is legendary. Pick it up with bacon and a double helping of their special sweet and sour sauce and then listen to your tastebuds swoon in your mouth. All their sandwich options are filling and unique; they offer potato chips instead of french fries (which is a bit of a flaw) but they make up for it with a good tap variety. The huge outdoor patio area is fantastic for late night shenanigans. Overall, a great place to hit either for a full meal or a quick bite.

From the outside, it didn't look like anything stood out to me but the lasting impression was their special sauce. Good local, sandwich place to eat if I was in the area but not somewhere I would make the drive to. I had the Baja Beef and boy was it beefy. Almost like a philly cheesesteak with more kick and lean cuts. Add some of their special sauce and you got something new going on. Oh, that special sauce...

Sandwiches here are amazing, especially with their sweet and sour sauce. I love the staff here and love the food. I haven't had a sandwich that I didn't like. service here is great and super friendly The only reason I deducted 2 stars was because my gf ordered a tom's choice and somehow they added avocado. Most of the time, I would be overjoyed because i love avocado. Unfortunately my girlfriend is highly allergic and she couldn't eat her sandwich. We could have spent a long day in the emergency room if I didn't selfishly take a bite out of her sandwich first (she tends to overlook these things when it comes to food). We would have asked for a replacement, but we got it togo and didn't notice until we got home.

How can you go wrong with board and brew. The orange sauce is amazing and all their sandwhiches are great. I would recommend the turkado. Can't go wrong with that one. Nothing much else to say other than that I appreciate they opened a mira mesa location, cause the del mar location is a mess to get food and try to find seating, especially with a big party. Great place.

  • Romulus T.

I'm usually a big fan of board and brew. I've been going to the one in del mar for years, but this location is missing something. The customer service is fantastic, and the bar is a nice touch, but it kinda loses the fantastic "beach" vibe that makes the Del Mar location so great. I ordered a turkado, which I typically order at other locations, but this one had way too much black pepper. Avocado tastes great on its own! Definitely no need to mask the flavor with pepper.

SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS LOCATION. I can't believe they've finally brought board and brew more inland! Although it's definitely meant to be located near the ocean, I appreciate that they're making it so much more accessible. Parking at the other location was always a hassle, and having a private lot here makes it so much easier. My favorites are the turkey delight and the turkado. The bread (sourdough especially) is always so soft and fresh. I wouldn't hesitate to say that all the sandwiches are 5-stars even though I've only tried a few. I can't seem to stray from my favorites because they're so good! Love their secret sauce (always ask for more) and wish they would sell it in a bottle! It's sweet and goes great on any sandwich. Also, the sandwiches with sunflower seeds are genius! If I'm ever too lazy to drive here, I might have to try putting sunflower seeds on a homemade sandwich (but it won't be the same). The employees here fit in perfectly with the vibe of the shop, and are super friendly and accommodating. They've got a decent sized bar at this location, but it was completely empty when I came here. I'm sure it'll pick up once word gets out that this place is open, but the environment inside was laid back, relatively quiet, and clean. Love that this location looks and feels spotless!

Best sandwiches & salads in San Diego! Everything is fresh & delicious. A great selection of local beers & they have happy hour! The staff is always friendly and provides excellent service. Definitely one of our favorite spots, we love board and brew! Love, love, love the sweet & sour dressing!

Went here this weekend after my first Board and Brew experience earlier last week. I love that this one has a pretty large selection of beer on tap. It was a great place to eat lunch, enjoy some really good hefeweizen, and watch the Padres lose. The "Beer" tender was very nice and knowledgeable about the beer was was kind enough to let me try a couple before deciding on the hef that I couldn't pass up on.

Turkado is the Bomb digg. For all the Cali kooks out there who love Protein, avocado and sourdough bread you will be overly pleased to hear they are not shy with ANYTHING! The sweet and sour sauce is heaven on earth. If you don't believe in god you will after this amazing sauciness touches your tongue like the spirit of the lord himself if I could buy it in a gallon sized pump handle I would! For the sustainable hipsters they even have a grass fed option on the menu! You're welcome.

Great sandwich place. 4 stars for a solid sandwich. I had the Turkado. It's a pretty large sandwich. I ate half and took the other half to eat later. What I loved about this sandwich was the amount of avocados. The sandwich by itself was good...but when you add that sauce of theirs? SO MUCH BETTER. I'll be back to try a few other sandwiches in the future!

Came here yesterday around lunch, it was pretty crowded. A table opened up literally as we finished ordering. I got the "Turkado" to share with my husband because we had actually come from Tailgating at the Q and weren't particularly very hungry but just wanted to try it out. The sandwich was good, really nothing extraordinary but their "secret sauce" took the sandwich to the next level. I actually think it's funny that they even call it the secret sauce if they ask you if you want some on the side when they take your order. The secret sauce was good though, I enjoyed it although it was a little sweet for my taste but nonetheless, enjoyable and gave the turkey, avocado sandwich it's own unique taste. The decor is very unique and cool, they utilize brand new skate boards and old surfboards as part of their decoration. The bright colors and the font of the "board and brew" sign are all very 80s. I like it! There are a pretty decent amount of seating, especially if you take I to account their patio seating. They do have TV's so you can come and watch the game or whatever which is nice. Bathrooms are clean and parking is spacious.

This place pretty awesome. My bf and I came here for a late lunch on a Sunday. I got the Baja beef and he got the Turkado. I definitely recommend the Baja beef. The French baguette is so soft and fresh. The beef is so flavorful and works really well with the grilled onion and jalapeño (it has a bit of kick of heat if you can't handle spicy). I loved my Baja beef. My bf's Turkado was also scrumptious. It's very healthy and loaded with turkey breast with avocado. This place has an amazing sauce that takes the flavor of the sandwiches to another level. I don't know what's the sauce made of, but it's a little sweet, maybe some kind of muster, and a bit of spicy. FYI, the portion is large and you can definitely share! They also have happy hour on Sunday. Great for enjoying some beer at the bar and watching the games.

If you're looking for some amazing sandwiches in the Mira Mesa area, this is the place to be. Their sandwiches are filling, and very tasty. So far, I've had the Tub-o-tuna and the Turknado; both tasted great. The sweet and sour special sauce that they have compliments the sandwiches well. They also have a hot sauce for those people looking for something spicy. You can also get a free drink if you check in! Why are you still reading this? The simplicity of their sandwiches, along with the big portions they give, makes this place a "go-to" spot. Did I mention there's beer? They also have that going for them. Everyone at the place is relaxed and helpful, and there's also a flat-screen TV behind the bar to keep track of what's going on in the sports world. Overall, well...go..just go!

Perfect lunch sandwich spot. Good atmosphere, beers on tap and bomb sandwiches. Got the Baja wrap, delicious. Came with huge chunks of chicken and the perfect amount of avocado. Top it off with the amazingness of the orange secret sauce and have pure satisfaction.

Good, cold local beer. Sandwich was great, actually a little too big and difficult to eat but was amazing with the sweet & sour.

I've had the Baja California and Turkado here and they're both super amazing -- really big portions, and simple but satisfying ingredients. Whatever sandwich you get here you have to try it with their secret sauce! I love the atmosphere of this place! Makes you feel like you're at the beach, but is much more cleaner and spacious than the Del Mar location.

Heard great things about this place. I know the Del Mar location is very famous and I was meaning to visit the Del Mar location...until I heard this one opened up near my work. Been here two times already. I usually don't like sandwiches that much but everything I tried here was a hit. Ordered the Tuna and the chicken club sandwich = very-well made. Ingredients taste fresh. Atmosphere is hipster. Service is amazing. Clean and simple. If you crave actual sandwiches (not subway, quiznos...etc) then you should definitely come here!

I never liked sandwhiches until I need found Board and brew. They were able to convert me with the Turkado (turkey on turkey, lettuce, tomato, avocado) and Toms choice. Their secret sauce is way too delicious. I wish they bottled it and sold it. Huge sandwiches for affordable prices and a laid back surfer vibe. Not to mention they have my favorite types of chips here, the Jalapeno Dirty Chips. Fast service and friendly people.

  • Rachel Q.

This place was really good. I ordered their California Delight and the hubs ordered their roast beef dip. Both sandwhiches were pretty tasty. My sandwhich was fresh and stacked high. It had turkey, tomato, sprouts (my fave!) and lettuce. It also had cream cheese and sunflower seeds. I was a little skeptical about the sunflower seeds, but it added an extra texture and flavor that I really enjoyed. I also thought the cream cheese was going to make the sandwhich heavy, but I was wrong. The cream cheese complimented the slight saltiness of the turkey perfectly. Can you tell I really enjoyed my sandwhich? Don't get me started on that orange sauce they provide with every sandwhich. It was so good and complimented the sandwhich also! So good! The place was very clean and we had a nice open view of their food prep area which also looked very clean and organized. I can't wait to try the other sandwhiches they offer.

The veggie supreme was so fresh and good. The sandwich was so big, eating half would have been ok for me. However since it was so good I just ate the whole thing. I will most definitely find the OC location.

  • Eric M.

Love the French dip with their horseradish. Careful it will knock you on your ass. I have tried the other sandwiches they are good but I keep coming back for the beef dip with grilled onions. Would be five stars if they ever get fries. Those chips are lame.

SAUCE SAUCE SAUCE! Board & Brew locations are usually found on the coast near the beach which is what made this place have that "Beachy" vibe about it. I've always driven to the Del Mar location just to hit up this place because....Yeah.... Its that good. So by this point in my review you should understand that it's a place that you would drive out of your way for. Chicken Club, chiken cluhb, Chikehn CLAB, CHICKEN CLUB!!!! This is the OG go to sandwich that I have to recommend if you don't know what to get this is da juan. The chicken, bacon, lettuce combo is everything you could ever ask for in a sandwich. Grilled to perfection. I am sure that you're wondering by this point why I haven't talk about the SAUCE, when I started off slightly yelling it at you when I started this review. The one thing is the sauce, I got to give it up to them for creating such magic goodness for a sandwich. Dont forget about the sauce. Other awesome attributes: -Parking is like a walk in a park, except in a car. -Outside Patio seating is great, although you have to talk over the freeway noise -They have 12 TAPS.... coming soon. A craft beer spot Im sure will attract a crowd to eat and drink some brews. GO GO go Go gO GO go go!

Cute little sandwich shop that just opened up in the Trader Joes shopping center. The turkado is probably their most popular sandwich here. Sourdough bread, jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a huge helping of guac. Parking here is easy peasy!

So me and the bestie were out running errands and the hunger monster reared her ugly head. Usually we do sushi so in deciding to step out of the box, we happened upon this sandwich spot. She got a California sandwich with avocado on squaw bread and I had a grilled chicken club on a French baguette. Both sandwiches were BOMB.COM ! I didn't care to much for the sauce that accompanied each sandwich, it was sweet kind of like a Catalina or French dressing taste, but it was on the side so no worries. All in all delicious food and great service! Also, a very extensive selection of brews but we didn't get any.....next time fo' sho!

These napkins are softer than a baby's butt - I feel like I'm wiping my mouth with a tissue made of clouds. The sandwiches are pretty great too, I always get the veggie supreme with mustard instead of mayo. If you're taking it to go I definitely recommend calling ahead during peak hours.

  • Drew H.

If you prefer quantity over quality, this is your deli. Uninteresting menu. Total lack of seasoning. Zero texture in the tuna sandwich. I prefer that my sandwiches have something other than shredded iceberg and flavorless tomatoes on them. Good selection of local beers. Employees are friendly enough. It's just not very good food. But, it's a "guys" place, so go stuff yourself!

I have a confession to make... I'm beginning to think there really is a GOD! I bought my place in 2012 in Scripps Ranch and all I ever prayed for was for the Mira Mesa/SR area to finally have some decent dining options (well, I was pretty new to the area back then, but now i know that there ARE some decent grub spots here to begin with, but listen, the new additions are definitely exciting and worth moving here for :D) and lo and behold, Boiling Crab opens, KMART opens, Gyu-Kaku opens, TOFU-KA opens soon thereafter, and then I see a MANNA BBQ sign to open soon!? GTFO! Yet, despite all that, Board N Brew must be the one that I am most thankful for because speaking about GOD, I must say... these sandwich creations (and their uber famous magic sauce) are heaven-sent! I used to audit in Carlsbad and getting to eat BnB's Turkado w/ Bacon w/ their fantastic, over-the-top-ridiculous-magic-sauce was one of the highlights of our month-long audits (i know, i know, us auditors have such sad lives). Another reason to be thankful? It's less than a mile away from my house and I can literally walk/jog there during my daily runs! Guys trust me on this, TURKADO with BACON + 2 Magic Sauces = HEAVEN on EARTH! You're welcome.

Ok, if you are a hungry big guy and want something fast this is probably a good place for you. I believe the wine and beer up the stars on this place because that is a nice feature in this area. However, if you are not use to eating fast food this place is not going to do it for you. The sandwich was ridiculously over filled which made it a total mess to eat. However with this said I'm a 50 something small female who rather eat with a fork so unless you are like me, try it for yourself. Mind you this is a chain restaurant.

THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. I think it's the same level of awesomeness as the Del Mar one in terms of food. This place is a lot cleaner though. I'm a pescetarian so I've only had the tuna and veggie supreme sandwich. They're both sooooo good. They really stuff the sandwiches. They taste so fresh and even more special with their sauce. The squaw bread on the veggie supreme is really a delicious choice and I don't even like bread. They're not stingy with their sauce either. Have encountered only nice workers here.

Came here a couple days ago and got a salad and it was pretty good. Nothing special but good. Came back today to try a sandwich and was not impressed at all. The Italian sub was weird and the Baja beef was just sad. The secret sauce they (luckily) put on the side was gross. The beer selection was okay but kinda expensive. Nice patio seating though but they definitely need more seating. I do like that they have bendy straws :)

    (3)
  • Andrew V.

I don't come to a lot of sandwich shops but this place caught my attention with the fresh decor and local style. I tried the Turkado and Tub-o-Tuna and I was not disappointed. They load their sandwiches with avocado and fresh ingredients. You must try their special sauce! It's the best condiment on all their sandwiches. Definitely going to be coming here more often

I used to work in Carlsbad and there was a board and brew location down the street. It was love at first bite! Then I worked in del mar for a bit and ate at that location. Still amazing. Now I live in Mira Mesa and get it all the time at the scripps ranch location. Next month moving to PB and you know my go to for sandwiches will be Board and Brew in PB! Turkado with two special sauce! All day everyday!

One of the best spots to get a sandwich from. I use to travel from Scripps Ranch all the way to del mar just for a Baja chicken. Friendly people, great service and even better sandwiches.

I work in walking distance from the Scripps Ranch location and the work week sandwich lunch is finally exciting again! Staff: Efficient and friendly! My Favs: 1. The California Delight with that wonderful secret sauce 2. The Beef Dip..can you say Auuu Juuus Sauce?

  • Jessica B.

Board & Brew is my favorite place to go for an amazing sandwich. Their ingredients are so fresh and recipes are on point! The Turkado is my favorite! Being a brand new restaurant they are dealing with red tape getting a liquor license. However, when speaking with the owner, he assured me the license is arriving very soon. Getting the license has been extremely difficult for them, which is understandable. If you are a B&B regular, you do not come here for the brew (even though they have excellent taste in their beer selection), you come here for the superior sandwiches and excellent service. Finally an epic sandwich place in San Diego!

  • Cherish R.

this is my favorite place to get sandwiches EVER. me and my mom used to go to del mar all the time just to get sandwiches, but we were so happy when they opened one here in Scripps. the place is nicely decorated and very clean, and the workers are really cool. my favorite thing to order is their chicken club and the secret sauce is just . hands down the best place to get a sandwich that is worth your money imo.

  • Lawrence B.

Had the Turkado with added bacon and is was delicious. Girlfriend had the pastrami, it was warm and cheesy. Great food and we both couldn't finish our sandwiches bc they were so filling. The service was both extremes. The Asian girl with blonde highlights was very unfriendly, no smile, no greeting, and barely helped us when we asked questions when ordering their sandwiches. She delivered our food and continued to be an unapproachable demeanor and she definitely didn't look like she wanted to be there working (or maybe having a bad day?) The white guy with the tattoos around his neck was extremely nice and helpful. He saw us finishing up and kindly brought us to-go bags and wrapping. He was interactive with the customers and greeted many people as they left. Thumbs up.

I thought that the sandwiches here were okay, didn't see anything too special about it but my fiance loves this place. I don't really like sandwiches so maybe I haven't found the right one on their menu yet. Since my fiance likes it, I guess I'll be going back again in the future. Maybe I'll find something I'll like on my next visit.

  • Pournami R.

The sandwiches here are beyond amazing! They give you their "secret" sauce on the side, but even without their signature sauces the sandwiches are still so delicious. Everything is reasonably priced and the portion sizes are very generous. Though they only have one vegetarian option, it was still a very filling sandwich. What makes this place extra special is the atmosphere. You really feel the beachy vibe with the decor and service. Definitely would come here again!

I love this place. I used to go to the Del Mar location a lot but now it's so much closer to me! The sauce is soooo good. Always have get it. I like hot sandwiches but the turkado is really good and probably one of their most popular. I always have a hard time deciding what to get. Tom's choice is really filling if you're super hungry. It's packed with meat. The Left Coast Pastrami oooooo so much flavor. Chicken Club is my most frequent though. I think of the hot sandwiches it goes best with the sauce. Even the wrap is really filling. Lots of chicken and really good with the sauce. It's all about the sauce. I wish I had some while I'm writing this. And now they have beer on tap!!! $3 till the end of Novemeber!!

Board & Brew RESTAURANT IS given 4stars by me due its performance which was eperienced byme there. Our first visit here, actually we had never heard of it. Was visiting our family in California and they frequent this restaurant. I ordered the turkey/avocado sandwich. They have their own "special" sauce, served on the side, and it is excellent. You order at the entry counter and your order is delivered to your table. There is a bar where you can order either beer or wine. (or a machine that dispenses soda drinks) Would definitely return to this restaurant!

Found this on a whim... and had a great lunch with our pug in tow. Living near Poway, it can be hard to get a fresh, non-fast food sandwich when the mood strikes. Board and Brew is now on the shortlist, for sure. Love the bar and large pet-friendly patio. I'm not sure about the meats - hopefully they are not the lunch meat variety. I had the beef on french roll with au jous dipping sauce and tasty horseradish dip...yum! Hubby got the tuna, but regretted his healthier bread and was envious of my bread. PROS Pet friendly patio - woof woof! Sandwiches don't skimp on the good stuff Bar! Good menu variety Clean Good location, handy meal pre Trader Joes run CONS Bar closes at 9 - understandable A tad expensive - nothing crazy for SD tho

Great sandwiches, great sauce, great potato salad. I'm always happy with the quality and the amount of food I get when I go to Board and Brew. I go often as they're nearby. They have a patio which has some pretty nice seating, however it's a bit noisy because of the freeway.

Pretty great sandwiches at a reasonable price. Super retro 70's feel yet modern. Really nice staff! The best part is the "secret sauce"! Make sure you get extra of that. We had the Turkado and the the chicken wrap. REALLY GOOD! No complaints here...

Been slacking on writing a review for this place. This place is my favorite after work spot to go to. The sandwiches are Good and the sauce is even better. I recommend getting the Turkado and ask for it toasted and cheese melted. Also, this is a favorite place because the beer selection. They always have locally brewed beers on tap and they always have new ones after every blown keg. The best part though is the environment and the employees. They are all down to earth people that make the experience at this place amazing.

  • Cecile L.

So freaking good!! The first time I came here with co-workers and at first we thought they were just regular deli sandwiches (which they kind of are.. you can get these sandwiches at any regular deli place), but the secret sauce? Oh man, so freaking good!!! Totally takes the sandwich to another level. When you order, always ask for extra because you'll want some with every single bite. I've tried the Turkado, Chicken Club, Roast Beef Spicy and Tub O' Tuna. All sandwiches were equally awesome. Really depends on what mood you're in for.. hot or cold sandwich. I just went here last week and they still don't have any beer on tap. Not sure what the status of that is...

I'm happy there's another sandwich shop nearby and in the trader joe's shopping center. The staff is really friendly and attentive. Ordered Tom's Choice and the cashier asked if I'd like extra sauce on the side. Sure! Why not? It's delicious. As I waited for my order, another lady checked up on it to make sure it was coming as she noticed me sitting and waiting. Good service. The Turkado is also a good choice. I really like the French baguette and that they power stack their sandwiches. They don't skimp on the meat. I've also had their green salad. To my surprise, it was delicious. I wasn't expecting much but those homemade croutons are so good. Nice back patio area as well.

My new favorite sandwich place! I got the turcado, one of the specials here. They were very generous with the turkey and avocado. It came with a semi sweet and vinegar-y sauce which paired well together. My favorite, however, was the hot sauce. I was pretty impressed that the hot sauce from board and brew was actually spicy. It's even more spicy than most Mexican sauces close by! I loved the hot sauce and it is a definite must to try it with the sandwich! I will definitely come back for more.

So many sandwhich places in San Diego and this one is a gem. My daughter loves the Turkado and I am a fan of the Roast Beef Dip. The secret sauce goes well on both. The service was fast and friendly at Scripps and the dining area was bright and clean with a large area available outside to eat while overlooking the freeway and Mira Mesa. No beer at this location yet.

Discovered this little gem after a day biking around Lake Miramar. The decor is modern skate/surf and is well lit and very clean. The staff is very nice and have that "no problem" disposition which I like. We split a veggie sandwich that was very tasty and had a nice heaping of avocados. My son's quesadilla was pretty good, and he really like the free beachball which he proceeded to play with the remainder of the day. I'm a fan, I'll be back and I can't wait to dive deeper into the menu.

My beautician raved about this place so I dropped by and ordered the Turkado. I would say it's a very solid sandwich. I appreciated that the sandwich was made with fresh ingredients, and that they do not skimp. (I loved the abundance of avocado in my sandwich!) The Turkado reminded me of a fresher, more generous Sprouts deli sandwich. The only thing I really dislike about this place is the shredded lettuce. It's truly a minor thing, but I believe it makes a difference in flavor and texture. A friend that accompanied me didn't order a sandwich because he wasn't a fan of shredded lettuce. I would give this place five stars if they start offering whole leaf lettuce, and stop running out of sourdough bread. An option for warmed up/toasted bread on the specialty sandwiches would be the cherry on top.

Customer service is on point, these guys are so nice! Great beer selection. And great sandwiches to choose from. I love the sauce they give on the side. Good music playing while you enjoy your food. I've only been here once and I'm definitely coming back!

  • Nicole G.

Oh mah gahhhhh, so glad they're finally open in Mira Mesa! On of my favorite places to go when I worked in Carlsbad and since leaving, it's just too far out of the way to work into the normal lunch rotation. The turkado is awesome, and that jalapeno wrap to die for. Special sauce? Yes please! They've got brews and sammies and everything you'd want, now if I only they could open a La Jolla location....

  • Aaron M.

First time here, the Turkado was really good. The patio setting is nice outside to chill. Definitely will come back again.

Got takeout again, and this time the sauce was there. Very good! Highly recommend the chicken club :)

I'm a regular at this location and I really love the food but every time (no exaggeration), they've gotten my order wrong. I don't ask for anything too specific so I just don't understand why. Everyone that works here is really friendly- it's just a disappointment that my order is always wrong :(

Awesome sandwiches quick with a cool place to munch, have a brew, and catch some sports on TV while you are there.

What can we say about Board and Brew?! Sauce, sauce, and more sauce!! So glad they built one closer to the inland area and that beer is available on tap. Always have had a positive experience here, no matter what time of day. The sandwiches have always been excellent and the beer selection is changing at a great pace. If you haven't experienced Board and Brew, get over here now and be prepared to be blown away. Recommend trying the Turkado and getting it toasted!

My new favorite!!! Yay!!! Love love love their sandwiches!!.. California Delight was phenomenal! Nice cool place with a spacious patio over looking the freeway. Very relaxing! Will definitely come back again!

  • Sherry B.

Just opened today and wanted to try out the place. Unfortunately their bar was not ready for business. Still waiting for alcohol license to clear. So we went ahead and ordered sandwiches from their "Sandwich Board": Turkey Breast and Roast Beef on sourdough bread/French baguette and a Turkado...turkey jack cheese with avocado. The sauce that comes with the sandwiches is pretty yummy!! Has a kick to it and definitely defines the sandwich even more!! Can't wait for the bar to open!!

    (4)
  • Nancy W.

This place is almost comparable to Ike's Sandwiches in San Francisco. I tired the baja beef and boy was it good!! I'm usually very picky about sandwiches and this place was above my exceptions. I can't wait to come back and try more sandwiches Don't forget to call in early!! I believe they don't have online ordering for this location yet

    (5)
  • Grace R.

Once again their food rocks!! This time I had the turkey club and it was amazing!!! DONT FORGET THE SAUSE!! Blu my dog always comes with me and enjoys sitting on the patio!

I love the Board and Brew at Del Mar so I was elated when I saw that this storefront opened on my way to the Trader Joe's. I always get the Turkado and I wasn't disappointed. People who are saying it's not as good as the Del Mar one are TRIPPIN because they use the same exact ingredients. Anyway, great location. Great food. Great staff. Can't wait till the bar is fully opened. I already see myself hanging out over here for Sunday night football.

  • Philip N.

Went with the Turkacado (without bacon, get it with bacon) for my first time here. First bite...on point...ask for the magic sauce (I squeezed in some of their habanero into the container and gave it a lil shakey shake) can't go wrong here. Lots of IPAs on tap. Happy dude right here :)

  • Nina S.

The sandwiches taste fresh and the staff are really friendly. I had the veggie sandwich and the bread was so good!! It was packed with avocado and sprouts. My boyfriend loves to come here weekly. Great laidback place.

  • Arielle G.

This is a great place for a laid back meal. They've got a variety of sandwiches that are all made with fresh ingredients and when you ask for avocado you can be sure you're going to get it. There's a decent selection of beer if you're interested in something other than soda and there's also a kids menu for the little ones. The outdoor seating is a definite plus and while the freeway isn't exactly what someone would call a great view, I personally think it adds to the atmosphere. I've only been here twice but I would highly recommend it.

  • Rmy M.

I was so excited when I found out Board and Brew's new location is close to my workplace! This location offers the same selection of yummy sandwiches at the same price as the Del Mar location. The only difference is this location has a seated bar area. Also, parking is easier since it is located in a strip mall. Don't want to rave about the sandwich again! Veggie Supreme is simply amazing!

    (5)
  • Darryl M.

Just as good as every other location of Board & Brew - which is PERFECT. You really can't go wrong with any menu item and they've got something for every eater and appetite. Love the fact it's closer to me and has a great looking bar in the works. Looks like my new spot to watch sports and enjoy a good meal!

  • Ariane N.

The Turkado melted was an extremely good sandwich! The sauce on the side really made it stand out for its unique flavor. Definitely give it a try!

  • Jim W.

I have been going to different Board & Brew's for over a year now. Hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten for a great value. The scrips ranch location has great service and keeps up their quality with the other B&B's throughout SD!

    (5)
  • Merry L.

Went here and ordered the Tom's choice and the Baja beef. Both really good. The baguettes they use are just average. (was hoping for the bread to have a little more chew to it and less of a subway type bread). The place is spacious and modern looking with nice seating outside. The service was good, but the manager had a real short temper with the nice cashier who was helping me. The computer went down and he had to come assist and was not nice about it. That was in front of a customer which I thought was pretty unprofessional.

    (4)
  • Sarah D.

I had to wait for something nearby for about an hour. Got some beer and a cheese quesadilla. Both were great. For a sandwich place they have a great beer selection! And the service is impeccable! Quick, polite, wager to please the customer. I don't even live in this area, but I'll be back.

Sooo I have always made the trip to Del Mar or Carlsbad for some Board n Brew, so I couldn't have been happier when I saw that there was one opening extremely close to me! Unfortunately, opening day wasn't until after I had left for college.... Lucky for me, my mom grabbed my California delight before getting on to her flight to visit me and my brother at school! The owners even added in a shirt and stickers for both of us to rep in the Bay Area and some extra sauce!! Thanks so much! You guys are awesome and I can't wait to be coming here all break :) Ps. California delight, turkado, and Tom's choice are my favorite!! Don't forget the sauce. It's the best thing EVER.

    (5)
  • Lauren B.

I recommend the turkado on squaw bread(and of course get the sweet n sour sauce on the side!). The sandwiches are great quality, the service is fast and friendly! And this new location is really fun inside. Great eat overall.

  • Claire S.

** WARNING- I GOT E COLI FOOD POISONING HERE and I'm not the only one. I work just down the street from here and my co-workers and I go here on a regular basis. one of my co-workers and I both got food poisoning from the Cob Salad this past weekend, and about a month ago one of my other co-workers got food poisoning from a chicken wrap. I have never been this sick in over ten years. I lost my entire weekend to it. I called to let the location know and they were basically in denial that the food poisoning came from them. Just a heads up!

  • Josephine S.

One of my favorite places to grab a sandwich. Service is quick and the food is very satisfying. They're pretty generous on portions too, so anticipate leftovers!! My favorite sandwich is the chicken club hands down, as well as the turkado (sub the bread with French baguette). The sauce they give on the side is kind of a necessary addition to your sandwich, taking it from your average sandwich to special :). It's sweet semi-oniony flavor adds another dimension to your sandwich, without the gross raw onion breath .

    (5)
  • Chris L.

Great addition to the area! Pretty damn good sandwiches. Nothing earth shattering but very solid with a nice ambience.

    (4)
  • Alexander T.

Board and Brew just opened up in Scripps Ranch! It's located in the same shopping center as the Trader Joe's. There's a lot of parking so you don't have to worry about that. Turkado is a must try! This place has awesome sandwiches and a friendly staff. You have to visit if you're in the area!!

    (5)
  • G G.

I have to give this place credit. True to the other reviews. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is fast and polite. A group of of came here for lunch on a week day and three of us had the Turkcado. We all love the secret sauce. Not sure what it is, but thinner and sweeter than thousand island. There is also a large outdoor seating area. Good job guys.

  • P A.

So happy there's another location. I used to drive up to Del Mar whenever I was craving a chicken sandwich. My go to, and only sandwich I order, is the Chicken Club. Fast service and good food, winner!

    (5)
  • Robert B.

Excellent choice for lunch. Very attentive customer service at all times. I've tried this new location many times, as the chain is new to me. Never found a sandwich I really liked--they seem to put mayonnaise on just about everything, and taking it off leaves it lacking. Their other sauce, the orange stuff, i didn't like either, so the sandwich offerings always have to be adjusted for me. I'm trying the Turkado with mustard today, hoping it'll be good. Service is always excellent.

  • Allison A.

Finally a quality sando place in this area! Prices are great. Service is always friendly. Good vibes. Can't wait til they get the beers and wines on tap! Try the hot sandwiches! Love this spot!

  • Lauren G.

I'm a frequent customer at the Del Mar location, it gave me quite an obsession for Board n Brew. I was extremely excited that we were getting a local Board n Brew in Scripps Ranch, but I was really disappointed. I always order the Turkado at the Del Mar location and I ordered the same thing three different times at the Scripps one, it was disgusting by comparison.

Was in the mood for a sandwich, which isn't usually my thing, and wasn't sure where to go. Jumped on Yelp and noticed this location was new to the area, so after reading a few reviews I decided to give it a shot. Decent sized venue, with a bar off to the right once you enter with a nice selection of beers on tap. I went ahead and ordered the Turkado at the suggestion of most on Yelp, with bacon added on. It's a filling sandwich, no doubt about it. I loved that it was on sourdough bread, with a good serving of turkey and their avocado spread. I elected to go with their secret sauce on the side....probably a mistake in the end. It's really delicious and probably the main reason I'll be giving this place another shot. It's just the right amount of sweet, so I can see how it adds flavor to any sandwich you have. Definitely getting it on the sandwich next time, and probably an extra side of it. I also elected to try their house potato salad. It's a nice small side serving, heavy on the chunks of potato, which I won't complain about. So just know, I'm not a big sandwich person, but this will definitely be a place I'll be recommending to friends going forward, if simply so they can try the secret sauce. That stuff is amazing.

After a 5 mile bike ride around Lake Miramar, we were on our way to Trader Joe's. We were hungry and saw this sandwich place. Wow! Great food and excellent service! Definitely try this place. You'll be pleased!

  • Nick G.

It's finally open! My go-to board and brew spot is normally del mar. But living in RB and working off Miramar, i can no frequent this spot for lunch and weekend meals. Stopped by for the first time and this location is definitely larger than the del mar location. Plenty of room to sit and dine in. They have a bar set up with what looks like plenty of delicious beers to be on tap (they're still waiting for their alcohol license). You really can't go wrong with an order here, but i have a really hard time not ordering the turkado with sauce on the side. Tub-o-tuna and baja beef are my second tier orders. Everything is delicious tho!

Stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. The line was short and the service was friendly. My salad and colleagues lunch order was prepared quickly and deliver to the table were waiting. Definitely the best sandwich shop around!

  • DorIan d.

Had the Tub o' Tuna sandwich, while the mister had the turkado w/bacon. It wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable either, thus the three stars. Secret sauce was good. Edited to add: I didn't find a specific thing wrong with this place; I guess I was just expecting something omg-amazing based on the reviews. I would definitely pick this place over Subway/Submarina

  • Taemin K.

Grew up on the Del Mar location, but they seem to be pretty consistent at all the locations I've been to. This place gets busy during the lunch rush, but the employees always are friendly & helpful. The sandwiches are excellent. You have to try the sweet & sour dressing it is what makes this place extra special

On Friday evening (around 6:50P.M.),I was warned with a sign on the entrance: "Attention: we have run out of bread! However we can still make you a wrap or salad!!" The sign at the door was not inviting at all. I saw some people walking away after seeing the sign. it was either they really wanted bread or they were turned off by the sign. In my opinion, it would have been better if it said: "We are SORRY, we have run out of bread! but we are happy to make you a wrap or salad!! Please come in!" I wasn't dying to hear "sorry" from them, but it would definitely made the situation better. Since I was pressed for time, I entered anyway. And there were about 4 people eating inside the restaurant. Soon, I guessed why. first of all, I was not greeted at all. plus, from the attitude of an employee,it felt like they were saying, "we posted a sign so don't even ask; get a wrap/salad or get the heck out." Hopefully, it was not their intention. But they definitely need improvement on their customer service.

I was skeptical at first, a B&B not on the coast?! But I was happily proven wrong. The newest Board & Brew is in a great location! The seating areas are great! There's even a counter top bar seating area (no beers as of yet but looks like they have 18 taps). Even the regular seating has outlets in the booths (to charge your phone!!!) Amazing! Now on to the food. The sandwiches are still on point. I got the ever popular turkado (I add sprouts) with the special sauce on the side. Tasted great! Perfectly made and just how I remember. The service was great! Might have been cause we were there at a slow time (right before the lunch rush) but they were all very personable.

I had a Tom's choice, and DH had a custom-made sandwich. They were both very good, and big enough that we could have shared. As it happened, we both brought half back home for another lunch. Fortunately, I asked for the "secret sauce" on the side. What IS that stuff?!?!?! It's far too sweet to be used on a sandwich. I might use it as a salad dressing ... in fact I suspect it's Italian dressing plus some other ingredients, including a huge amount of sugar or other sweetener. A not-trivial disappointment was the bread. It was advertised to be served on a baguette. That was not even close to a baguette! It was a soft roll. A nice soft roll, but by no means a baguette! Still, we'll go back. And probably share a sandwich (skip the "secret sauce", please).

My friend suggested I come eat here one day, and boy does she know her food places! I absolutely loved how retro the interior was and it gave sort of a 80s/90s feel to it. The place was very clean and the furniture was positioned, so wherever you sat, you were able to be entertained by the television. The staff was very kind, and it was cool for them to bring you your food to your table. Service was on point! Now, for the food. I ordered the chicken club and it was BOMB!!! Now that's how you make a sandwich. The chicken was marinated well and had so much flavor with every bite I took. I'm happy to say that my meal was completely filling. I would like to give this place 5 stars, but I have only gone once. One I start making it a habit to come here more often, and try out more of their sandwiches, I'll eventually raise the rating.

My new fave sandwich place, plus great craft beer. I've had the turkey club, beef dip, and Cobb salad and all were supreme. I've eaten there 6 times in as many weeks. 'Nuff said.

  • Paulina D.

This place is definitely my new favorite sandwich spot! So far I've tried the turkado, Tom's choice and their Cobb salad. I have not been disappointed by any of these! All of the portions are ginormous. In my opinion, you really get more than what you pay for which is fantastic. The turkado is loaded with a ton of avocado which is included in the price! My boyfriend got full off of a half of a sandwich and trust me, he could eat. Tom's choice was also delicious. A little different than the turkado as for it comes in a baguette. Yes.. A whole foot long baguette. The Cobb salad was amazing. It came with a bunch of grilled chicken, bacon, eggs and tomatoes. I could definitely portion one order into four servings. Everything tastes really fresh here. The staff is always friendly and polite. They always ask if you want a side of their secret sauce with your order m. Ummm yes! The restaurant has a really chill and inviting vibe. Loveeeeee this place!

Put me down as a sandwich convert! My mother brought home one of their sandwiches from their Carlsbad location, and I wanted to try more! Luckily for me, they have a branch right here at home, and so a friend and I hurried over there for lunch for us and our family. We got take out this time, but the brief time we spent there was enough to tell us what kind of establishment this was. Upon entrance, you see right away the spacious dining area; it was also brightly lit, everything looked sparkly and clean. To the right was their bar area, with two large tv screens adorning the wall. It wasn't clear to me at first where you line up - so my friend and I walked through the middle aisle - I found myself in the way of the servers a few times, but immediately we found out they have a separate area for lines away from the tables, which was pretty smart. We ordered our food, the staff were nice and friendly, and I went outside to see just how big this place was. I was pleasantly surprised to discover their outdoor patio area, I really liked how sizable and how comfortable looking it was. Perfect for large groups to gather! I didn't get to stay long to see about the noise level, but I didn't think it would be a problem, despite the freeway being just right there. (I imagine the lights would look nice at night though.) We got home and our food was just as expected - mouthwatering and delectable. We got the secret sauce, natch. My favorite so far is their California Delight - the combination of flavors was just so good, and so was the texture (the creaminess and crunchiness all combined, mmmmm). I'm definitely going back to try more of their food, and hopefully have the chance to experience a sit down meal at this place. The place is nice, the food is great and the prices are affordable. I'm definitely a fan. ;)

I haven't been there since the beer was set-up but I have been there a couple of times for the food. The sandwiches are decent, not my favorite but good. Nice people and setting. I could see it being a cool place to hang out once the beer is flowing.

Found this place by walking out of another place that snubbed us, so when we decided to take our business elsewhere, we were glad we did! We loved it here! The staff and food are great! We will definitely come back! And the sweet and sour! Oh my! Woooooooo! BLT is bomb!

    (5)
  • Hunter Z.

Awesome service! Great sandwiches and a cool atmosphere! The Chicken Club and the Baja Beef are my go to sandwiches here!

    (5)
  • Mari F.

I don't understand what the hype is about. I ordered a sandwich and found the bread to be dry and a bit stale and the special sauce is just a very sweet thousand island dressing. Did not try the craft beers. They get an extra star because the staff was pleasant. I could have made a much better sandwich myself with ingredients from Von's.

  • Ashley C.

I have an odd obsession with sandwiches and this place takes the cake for me...I'M HOOKED!!! I always get the California Delight with extra sauce, trust me on the extra sauce, you wont be sorry.

About time we got one closer to home. Tom's Choice is where it's at...pair with the secret sauce mixed with hot sauce! Great indoor bar with lots of selections and great outdoor area for parties etc. Nice to have my sando spot nearby, don't have to hit up subway or submarina...just go here!

  • Alyssa S.

I was so happy to find out a board & brew opened up down the street from my house. I have never eaten at board & brew until this location opened up but I always heard good things. Honestly, I'm always a little skeptical about sandwich places because sandwiches are easy to make so I came in with the mindset "okay how good can this really be" The first time I went I ordered a Tom's Choice with secret sauce on the side. After my first bite my view on sandwich shops changed! This sandwich is absolutely delicious but the secret sauce might be the one that takes credit for the amazingness. I don't know what that secret sauce is composed of but it definitely makes my sandwich the bomb! I think i've been 5 times already ever since they opened and I just can't get enough. If you're one of those people that are always contemplating between a turkey sandwich or roast beef get the Tom's Choice because it has both :O score!! Anyways, this place is awesome. Great sandwiches and awesome staff. I highly recommend :D Oh but those dirty chips they sell I'm not a fan :( I wish they had better chip selection but hey this is a sandwich place so that's hardly a factor lol.

I love Board & Brew. Thank goodness that another one opened in Mira Mesa, so I don't have to head all the way to Del Mar to fulfill a bomb ass sandwich craving. My goal is to try all the sandwiches on the menu. Some of my favorite ones are albacore tuna, beef dip, and vegetarian. They have a lot of selections, so any craving should be satisfied. One particular sandwich that I didn't enjoy too much was the Baja Wrap. Maybe it was jalapenos aren't really my thing, but I should've known that a wrap is not the same thing as a sandwich. Everything else that I've gotten still works for me!

This are serious sandwiches! Yum! You must try the Turkado with the sauce on the side. Never say no to the sauce. Every time I have visited Board and Brew, the service has been amazingly quick and everyone is super friendly. But, best of all, delicious food! Welcome to Scripps Ranch, Board and Brew. We are fans. :)

If you want a good sandwich and a beer then this is the place for you. Casual atmosphere. A couple of tvs to keep you company while you eat. I had the turkado and it was as expected. Bread was nice and soft with a crunchy crust which is how I prefer it. Overall a great place for a sandwich. Staff was good and gave a good recommendation on a beer when they saw I was struggling with a decision. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

I would definitely recommend this as one of my favorite places to grab a sandwich in San Diego. The ambiance is cool and I believe you can even enjoy your meal with your dog out on the patio. I got the club sandwich and my husband got the pastrami sandwich. Both sandwiches were flavorful and delicious. The service there was great and we got our food almost immediately after sitting down. They offer a "secret sauce" which is excellent and I highly recommend it on the side of either of the sandwiches we got. PS November offers 3 dollar pints!!

Spicy Roast Beef rocks! I like eating it with a triple dip of sauces between au jus, horseradish, and then their special sauce. I eat a lot of sammies, and this is up there with my local favorities.

It's open! :) Hours are 10am to 9pm everyday, as the sign says. Looks like yelp doesn't have this info yet, as I don't see the green open sign at the top of my page. I had the turkado and it was amazing, with the special sauce of course. As previously said they don't have their liquor license yet. But when they do, I bet this place will be busy. It looks like they have room for 13 beers on tap. The also have an outdoor seating area, so there should be plenty of room for all the hungry and thirsty guests.

I'm not a huge sandwich fan but my lunch date wanted to go here and I was happy to join her. We both had the California Delight...and it was pretty good. Definitely will go back! BTW they have their beer and wine license now.

So glad I don't have to trek to Del Mar for the secret sauce and sandwiches. They make delicious simple and fresh sandwiches. Great spot for lunch!

BOOMSAUSE. Tub of tuna is probably the best tuna sandwich in SD.

Great food and great service! My favorite on the menu is the Turkado...don't forget the special sauce! Love the decor at this location:) Would definitely come back!

I'm not really a sandwich guy, but I do like interesting food and this restaurant delivers! Like many, I had the Turkado and the sandwich was stuffed with all kinds of good stuff and I needed an extra special sauce on the side because the first one was delicious and therefore, gone right away. Easy recommendation for interesting sandwiches!

The best sandwich joint yet. Waiting for them to get beer on tap and hopefully they will become as popular as the in del mar, if not MORE popular! I really hope this location does extremely well. You must get turkado and add bacon to it! Get extra sauce on the side... The sauce makes everything that much better.

Yummmmm!!! Clean, fast, polite, and delicious!

You must try to Baja Chicken, it is to die for. Also make sure to get the sauce, it makes the sandwiches. I'm so glad that they opened a location near where I work as I will be visiting quite often. My only complaint is that one of the young ladies that works there was not dressed very professionally. I darn lost my appetite when I saw what she was wearing which was not very becoming on her.

Delicious! Best sandwiches in the area. Squaw bread is amazing. Love the secret sandwich sauce. Super fresh, super fabulous.

I understand that you can run out of bread since its prematurely opened (bar not set up neither). but all these young employees are super rude without any trace of a smile. this place is a sad joke of Del Mar location. I'll be driving 15 miles to Del Mar instead of 2 miles here. even the manager was cranky.

Great spot verging on amazing spot once beer/wine license comes through. I'll update once I see their beer list and prices.

Love the layout, the speed of service and the awesomeness of the sandwiches! The Baja Beef and the Toms special were what we had today. Both awesome sandwiches. Get the Au Jus and hirseradish. It makes it like a legit Prime rib sammie. The special secret sauce they have would be good on anything. Cannot wait for them to get there beer license. They have a really cool outdoor patio and a great bar and a couple solid flat screens. May be giving this a try for Football season! So stoked this is in my neighborhood!

New sandwich spot in Scripps Ranch. Boyfriend got the toms choice and I got the turkacado on squaw bread. The size of these Sammy's were so big. We both ate half and saved the other half for later. You can taste the quality of ingredients in every bite and they do not skimp on fillings. The atmosphere is very chill and the music playing in the background matches the vibe of the place itself. Definitely will be going back :)

Best sandwich in San Diego!!! Hands down. Can't wait till they get a liquor license. I know it is a pain in the butt to get one so I know it will be worth the wait. Great customer service and friendly staff.

Best sandwiches, hands-down! We get the Boardmaster every time! Located in Scripps Ranch near the Trader Joe's and I'm thrilled to have one close to home. Very clean, great service, and fast too! Can't wait to come back for our next sandwich!

I've always wanted to try this place because I've heard many good things. The place is pretty small, but it's optimal for if you just wanna grab a bite and go. They also have two big screens if you wanna watch the game. Anyways, their sandwiches are sooo goood, mostly because of the secret sauce. The secret sauce is soooo bombbb, I can eat anything with it. I ordered the baja wrap because i love avocado and it was delicious. My boyfriend ordered Tom's choice, which was a bit meaty for my taste, but he loved it. We also used quite a bit of their hot sauce and it might not be spicy at first, but it hits you pretty hard later. Overall, YUM.

Tried this place out today and was pleasantly surprised. That little shopping center in Scripps is really turning into a great spot for food. The sandwiches were tasty, the sweet sauce on the side was divine and the bread was soft and fresh. Too bad they don't serve French fries or homemade chips.

Brand new location, very nice decor, and an awesome place to eat. The Sandwiches here are AMAZING! Lunch time is very busy, but the service is awesome. The staff has a smile, and ready to serve. Our fav is the Chicken Club which is AMAZING!

Outstanding! I love B&B sandwiches but me and too much bread too often isn't good; so this time I ordered the Green Salad, Chopped with Avocado - WOW! great meal, very filling and left with a healthy feeling all over. No doubt will stop by many more times on my way home. Oh and great patio scene

So happy Board and Brew is finally in our neighborhood! It's always delicious and at good prices. The sweet and sour sauce is the best part!

Really good sandwiches. I got the turkado and it tastes just like the one in Del Mar. Everyone was really friendly and the place was clean. Will definitely be going back!

I love going to their new location. Service is great every time I have been there and the food comes out quickly. I even like you can go sit directly at the bar and order your food there.

Sandwiches are excellent (at least the one I had: French Dip). Seating is pleasant and they keep the place clean. My only complaint: the cashier/order taker spent 30 seconds opening a new roll of pennies so he could give me my 89 cents in change (Or even round it down! Who wants pennies?).

$10 for a glass of wine when a pitcher of beer is $11? What is going on here? The sandwiches are terrific but $10 for a small glass of wine is ridiculous.

Amazing food! Amazing Service! We catered from here, ordered almost 3 trays of sandwiches and everyone loved it! Dillan Jordan helped us out from ordering to pick-up and he made sure not to miss any of our requests. Awesome guy and awesome place! From Baja Beef to Turkado to Veggie, each and every sandwich was eaten to the last bite. Always enjoyed their food in Del Mar and will continue to enjoy their food in Scripps now that they are closer to our company. 10 star if I could! Their quality of food has not failed me ever! Highly recommend this spot! Don't miss out on a great opportunity to make your mouth water and your stomach to beg you for more. =)

We had been looking for a great place to order catered lunches for our offices and we found it with the Board & Brew. Dillan goes above and beyond to make sure our lunch deliveries are on time and that we have all that we need. All our staff loves the sandwiches and salads. You won't go wrong with anything at Board and Brew. Thanks, Dillon for the white glove service!

I'm having a tough time with my stars, not sure it deserves 4 overall...we called in an order, went to pick it up and they handed us a bag and we went back to work to find out they left a sandwich out...went back to get the 3rd sandwich and didn't even get an apology for having to come back or for them messing up...oh and then they labeled them wrong and we found out after the first person ate the wrong sandwich...so, it turns out the sandwiches are really tasty, and we will try them again so that I can try the sandwich I actually ordered. Be sure to check your to go order before you leave! Hopefully they work on their customer service, an apology goes a long way!

Try the Turkado, Beef Melt, or a baja melt and then wash it down with an inexpensive local craft beer that they have on tap. This place never disappoints, great service and a friendly atmosphere.

Yum! Sandwiches are huge! Special sauce is a must. And they have a large back patio where dogs can hang out too! We will definitely be back.

Only was able to try one sandwich, Tom's choice, and it was delicious. The turkey and roast beef complemented each other well. The sandwiches come with a special sauce, which was like a sweeter thousand island. :) Would definitely come back to partake of their other sandwiches. I recommend splitting a sandwich as their sandwiches are ginormous.

This simple sandwich shop is the bomb diggity! The sandwiches we had, Tom's Choice and California Delight was the bomb diggity! Their secret sauce is the bomb diggity!! Definitely one of our go to places! Yum!!

This place is awesome! The ingredients are fresh, staff is always friendly and helpful and the sandwiches are huge. Must try the special sauce! I will definitely be back. I talked to staff and they said that the bar will be open probably next week! Great place to watch football and just hang :)

This place has potential and could be a welcome addition to the Scripps Ranch food scene! Love the retro 80's skateboard decor. 2 stars from me until they start selling alcohol, and get some light low calorie salad dressing for crying out loud! The guy working the register told me the owner of the out of business daycare next door complained about them selling alcohol. Soo... that's why they don't have any beers for sale yet. How can a place that's out of business still complain about their neighbor selling beer, it's an empty building for crying out loud?!? It's like a good wedding reception people! If you don't have alcohol, people go home!! Until they get beer this is a stop in for a quick bite to eat kind of place for me , not a hangout spot. Oh well, still a welcome addition, and a great sandwich spot. They can't help it their neighbor is a butt munch. Cheers! BIGGEST COMPLAINT: No light salad dressings? Wha Wha What??? They only have full flavored disgusting fat filled ones. More people workout in San Diego than anywhere else I know of, you would think they would have a light italian or balsamic vinagerette here. Nope only what the cows eat. Pay attention to your customers. Do they look like they eat full flavored ranch dressing on everything? I didn't think so. Now get some light dressing. Thanks, Your customer.

Just stopped by for few sandwiches with my wife. I had the Tom's Choice and my wife had the Tub o Tuna. Both were awesome, packed, and super fresh bread. Not small sandwiches. The store is open, clean, and has a great feel. We'll be back.
